We are developing athletes physically at an incredible rate‼️👀
Strength training, speed development, sports nutrition, recovery, technology and specialized coaching have changed the game.
But there is something we can’t accelerate the same way:
Maturity.
A 15-year-old can be incredibly strong, fast and physically gifted while still learning how to handle criticism, failure, frustration, pressure and accountability.
That’s not a weakness.
That’s part of being young.
Our responsibility as coaches, parents and mentors isn’t just to make athletes better physically.
It’s to help them become more disciplined, more resilient, more coachable and more emotionally prepared for adversity.
Because eventually every athlete will experience failure.
They’ll get benched.
They’ll lose.
They’ll get injured.
They’ll get overlooked.
Someone else will get the opportunity they wanted.
The physical tools may get them there.
But their character, discipline and ability to respond to adversity will determine what happens next.
Build the athlete. Build the person. 🐺
