DARK MATERIALS // UNBOUND 2026

The ability to iterate quickly and some tough as nails Dark Materials test pilots.

UNBOUND delivered some of the harshest conditions imaginable to put our 32” & 700c WideAero Gravel prototypes through their paces.

Long miles, sharp rock, deep mud, deeper water, crosswinds, thunderstorms and brutally thick air.

A top ten. An unfortunate DNF (due to a cut tire). A covert rider ending up on the top step in XL. And the feedback needed to turn the k***s, test more, iterate more and dial it all in.

This is what goes into producing the best version possible.

The Queen of Unbound XL. pushed through 356 miles of wind, rain, lighting, and endless stretches of mud to regain her crown. After battling the relentless conditions for 27:11:32, Svenja rolled across the finish line a champion.

’s ACE build for the Traka 360 was something else!

The Traka 360 is a monster! It’s long, it’s rough, and it’s fast. As one of the fastest disc-specific rims available, there was no doubt that the SOLiX SL AR40c’s were the tools for the job.

After 360km of racing, Ben put in a huge effort to claim 4th place in a sprint finish. Congrats, Ben, we’re still in awe of that sprint finish.

Our man has just built himself a fresh gravel machine.

It's a build that's been on the cards for a while for Dillon, but it's finally come together. With a Rover as the foundation, it's rolling on a set of SOLiX SL AR40c wheels among a host of other top-of-the-line bits.

Perfect build up for those days where dirt, gravel and pavement are all on the plate.

Earlier this week, we had the powerhouse man from New Zealand, , stop by to get a first-hand look at how we do things here in Asheville.

We talked development, got some key insights and feedback from Cam, and toured everything from the machine shop to anodizing to the final build stations, where each and every wheel comes together.
