"Let's go skiing right now" Roald Amundsen (1872 - 1928) The 3-Part Formula is the most versatile outdoor clothing concept. It proved unbeatable.

Our mission is to establish the 3-part formula as the preferred outdoor clothing concept, and thus giving people an enhanced outdoor life. As its name suggests, it comes in 3 parts (jacket, knickerbocker and gaiters) instead of the ordinary 2 parts (jacket and trousers). All of us mountain enthusiasts know how quickly the weather changes. During a short period of time, you can have all seasons. Wi

Recently featured in Financial Times HTSI: a portrait of the ever-friendly and talented Morgan Schwarz , alongside an interview with Jørgen Amundsen about natural materials. “I see a lot of people hiking in waterproofs on a sunny day. It’s the wrong type of garment to be wearing.” – Jørgen Amundsen. Written by Grace Cook

«For me, the surf experience doesn’t end at the water’s edge. I carry the session back into the art studio, where I re-cast it, re-shape it, or simply re-live it on canvas.»

With a long weekend to spare, we caught up with our friend, artist, and waterman Pete Cabrinha in Nantucket, as he made his way down the East Coast showing his artwork.

[Ronnie Romance • Quest for Quaint] “Truthfully, (the rules) burnt me out. That’s why I’m doing this now”. Ronnie finding trail romance along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset on the final stretch of our UK trip. “If you call yourself a cyclist, people think that means you got the spandex kit and you’re shaving your legs. For me, you erase that barrier of entry where you don’t need to put on anything specific. I just wanna go for a bike ride. And wear normal shorts. Waxed canvas on leather. Perfect.” – Ronnie Romance, Ultranicus

Myrfotball World Cup • As a solution to Oslo’s shortage of playing fields, twenty-four players ventured into the forest and found a swamp. A pitch was marked with white flour. Rules were made, adjusted, and mostly forgotten. Cooling breaks came and went as needed. There were moments of brilliance. The commitment never wavered. Glory was secured and celebrations followed. For a few hours, the other World Cup felt very far away.

[The Northwest Passage • In the wake of Roald Amundsen] • Today, June 10, 2026, almost exactly 120 years after Roald Amundsen’s historic transit of the Northwest Passage, our friends at Amundsen Adventure will once again point the bow north. Aboard Alma af Frøya, a faithful replica of Amundsen’s polar vessel Gjøa, Terje, Tormod, Børre & Co. will retrace sections of his original route through the Arctic, revisiting places documented more than a century ago and comparing his observations with the conditions of today.

[Anker & Jensen • Norwegian Coastal Culture]
With the sun high and the wind filling in, we set course into the archipelago aboard Carmen — a classic wooden sailboat built by Anker & Jensen in 1946 and winner of the inaugural Færderseilasen in 1947. A local beauty with stories hidden in her seams. Today, she is lovingly maintained by our master woodworker, Jo, whose craftsmanship helps keep a small piece of Norwegian coastal heritage alive.

[Kellyn Wilson | Worn With Purpose]

Growing up in Colorado, the mountains were never a destination — they were just home. Outside before breakfast, back in time for dinner. Everything that mattered happened outside.

Now based in Telluride, Kellyn is still chasing that same feeling — just with a little more style. Her newsletter TOGS, co-written with , has become a go-to for anyone who loves the story behind what they wear — and believes you can feel good and look good weather at home or on the road.

Our Rebel Instinct • Notes from founder J. Amundsen: “Amundsen was born from a simple idea: to make the right products for the life we live outdoors. From the beginning, it was about creating clothing shaped by Norwegian outdoor culture, rugged yet refined, and doing things properly. Drawing on tradition, but guided by real use, experience, and a deep connection to nature. The life we live outdoors.

Summer opens that world even further. It is the season when life stretches outward, toward the sea, the mountains, and the road between. A season of movement and light. Of early swims, long sails, steep trails, and journeys shaped more by instinct than itinerary.

Here’s to the season. To salt on the skin, wind in the sails, dust on the boots, and stories earned in the field. To timeless adventure.”
