Sometimes, sitting alone gives you space to recognize that you are not truly alone.
Curaçao has taught me and tested me a lot when it comes to connection and relationships. As an outsider, I’ve learned that trust takes time. Understanding the culture has helped me recognize that every relationship develops differently whether it’s a friendship, a business connection, or someone you hope to serve. Each one requires intention, patience, and the energy to keep showing up.
I’ve also found myself reflecting on the relationships I have back home. The people who called, texted, or simply left a comment to remind me that I hadn’t been forgotten made me feel seen and appreciated not just for what I share online, but for who I am beyond the posts.
Because sometimes, when people don’t reach out, it’s easy to wonder if you still matter.
Today, as I sit here alone and reflect, I’m reminded that connection isn’t always about physical presence. Sometimes it’s a simple message that says, “I still see you.”
The energy you bring shapes the experience people have with you. That experience influences connection, trust, and ultimately, the relationships you build.
Who has made you feel seen lately?
