It started this week.

On Monday, crews began dismantling the original wood planters that had been in place for nearly a decade, removing aging materials and clearing the way for what comes next. Just steps from Marian Road Highrise, the space is being rebuilt with a longer-term vision, designed to be more durable, more accessible, and more connected to the trail. The teardown is complete. What comes next moves fast.

As we approach Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on Dr. King’s enduring legacy of justice, service, and community.

This MLK Jr. Day, we encourage our community to honor that legacy through learning and action — including visiting the in Buckhead for MLK Jr. Day programming, highlighting Atlanta’s role in the Civil Rights Movement.
