Here's a look at Wirtz Dam and Starcke Dam on Friday morning.

Multiple floodgates are open at both dams to pass floodwaters into Lake Travis.

Lake Travis has risen almost 6 feet since yesterday. Lake Travis is expected to rise to a range of 682 to 684 feet above msl through Saturday, July 18.

The Pedernales River is one of the major tributaries that flows into Lake Travis. Our teams are continuing to monitor weather, rainfall and river conditions across the basin.

UPDATE (Saturday July 18, 9:46 AM): One floodgate is open at Mansfield Dam to pass floodwater downstream, with a second expected to open around 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18.

Also open: one floodgate at Tom Miller Dam, plus multiple floodgates at both Wirtz Dam and Starcke Dam.

UPDATE (2:13 PM): Floodgate operations are expected at Mansfield Dam and Tom Miller Dam.

LCRA will open at least two floodgates at Mansfield Dam tomorrow, Saturday, July 18. The first gate is expected to be opened around 6 AM. The second gate is expected to be opened at 1 PM.

LCRA will also open one floodgate today at Tom Miller Dam around 3 PM.

Multiple floodgates remain open at both Wirtz Dam and Starcke Dam.

UPDATE (5:50 PM): One gate is open at Wirtz Dam and multiple gates are open at Starcke Dam to pass storm runoff downstream.

UPDATE (4:14 PM): Floodgate operations are underway at Wirtz Dam and Starcke Dam. LCRA plans to open additional floodgates at both dams later this evening.

The water will be passed downstream into Lake Travis. Flows below the dams will be higher and faster than usual.

LCRA projects Lake Travis will rise to between 680 and 681 ft. msl through Friday. Additional inflows could cause the lake to rise into its flood pool.

REMINDER: Wirtz Dam creates Lake LBJ and Starcke Dam creates Lake Marble Falls. The runoff will flow from Lake LBJ into Lake Marble Falls and then into Lake Travis.

UPDATE (1:45 PM): LCRA has partially opened a floodgate at Lake Bastrop Dam to release stormwater. Water will flow down Spicer and Piney creeks to the Colorado River. Take action to protect people and property that may be affected .
