If youâve ever taken a Pilates class, on the mat or reformer, Iâm sure youâve been asked to pulse during an exercise.
We all know it increases the burn. But you may be asking âwhy do we pulse?â
Those small, controlled movements arenât just there to make class harder. Pulses increase time under tension which challenges muscular endurance and encourages you to stay connected to your alignment and form.
Smaller movements often require more control. So next time you are in class, embrace the pulse!
