Kern Diamond Development is a Kern County based data performance service for baseball and softball.
There’s no perfect drill — I don’t think one movement pattern deserves all the credit, and I get the purists who say let mechanics develop naturally before fine-tuning. That said, drill work still matters when it’s done with purpose. But not every drill is meant for you — some will actually take you the wrong direction, and busy work isn’t productive if nothing’s broken. Skip it if you can’t tell whether it actually helps how you throw. ⚾
Most underrated part of Trackman Baseball is their video comparison model that allows us to view two pitches at once. This gives our trainers and players better feedback each rep. What do you notice between these two clips?

Summer’s wrapping up… but we’re just getting started.
September is here, fall baseball is rolling, and spooky season is officially on deck. 🎃👻⚾️
Creating tension in our delivery versus holding tension. I’ve always been a fan of getting rid of slack in the system by allowing the hips to rotate freely. Its our core’s responsibility to keep our shoulders closed while we drive our hips down the mound into opening. Lower body rotates first and the upper body rotates second, not at the same time. The sooner we can learn that concept, the more we can be elastic and throw hard at lower intensities. Kinetic energy beats muscling up everytime. (Well almost everytime).
