LSU AgCenter's Botanic Gardens at Burden

Situated on a tract of over 440 acres of open land in the heart of Baton Rouge, Burden Center is one of Baton Rouge's hidden treasures. Acquired by John Charles Burden in the mid 19th century and originally named Windrush Plantation, Burden Center is the home of a wide array of horticultural research projects as well as a number of public gardens. Come tour our Pollinator Garden, Children's Garden, Camellia gardens, and Rose Garden, or take a stroll through 3 miles of walking trails.
