It’s Friday! 💪

What are you doing today to build muscle?

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is that building muscle is only for young people. The truth is that older adults can absolutely build strength and muscle. It may take a little more planning, consistency, and recovery, but it can be done.

A few facts:
✅ Muscle loss naturally occurs as we age if we don’t challenge it.
✅ Strength training can improve balance, mobility, and independence.
✅ Building muscle helps support metabolism and everyday activities.
✅ It’s never too late to start.

For many people, losing weight is the primary goal. That’s fine—but gaining and maintaining muscle should never be a temporary goal. It should be a lifetime mission!!

Strong muscles help us do the things we love, stay active, and maintain our quality of life as we get older. 💪🏼💪🏼

Not sure where to start? Send us a message. We would be happy to help point you in the right direction. 💙💪🏼

Have a great Friday and keep moving!

Lean Turkey Slaw – Quick and Easy 💪

Need a fast meal idea? Here’s one straight from our kitchen:

✅ Protein of your choice
✅ Broccoli slaw
✅ Chopped pickles
✅ A splash of olive oil
✅ A splash of red wine vinegar

Mix it all together and you’ve got a high-protein meal with plenty of crunch, flavor, and volume.

We used lean turkey because we almost always have some cooked and ready to go at our house, but chicken, ground beef, shrimp, or leftover steak would work just as well.

Sometimes healthy eating is as simple as using what you already have on hand and making it work.

Quick. Easy. Delicious!

Bringing back an old text message… 😂💙

Nutrition is everything!

One cinnamon roll doesn’t ruin your progress, but if the rest of the day turns into “well, I already messed up…” that’s where people get into trouble.

Drink your water.
Eat your damn protein.
Get your fiber in.
Make the next meal a good one.

You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to stop letting one choice turn into a whole day of choices that don’t support your goals.

As personal trainers, our job is to hold our clients accountable, push them when they need it, and remind them that one less-than-perfect choice doesn’t mean the day is lost.

Progress is built one meal, one workout, and one decision at a time.

If you’re ready to build healthier habits and stop starting over every Monday, come see us or send us a text. We’d love to help. 💙

P.S. We never mention names, but your text may end up in a future post. 😂

🍽️ What’s for lunch?

Leftover chicken tenders, pre-boiled red potatoes, and roasted carrots. Throw it all in a pan with fresh green onions and garlic and there ya go! 💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️💙

Nothing fancy, just making leftovers work and getting in some protein.

Sure, I could’ve just microwaved everything, but I had a few extra minutes and my stove was available today! 😄

You have to eat anyway… might as well use what you’ve already got in the fridge.💁🏻‍♀️

Recovery becomes more important as we age.

When we’re younger, we can often get away with poor sleep, inconsistent nutrition, and training hard every day.

As we get older, recovery isn’t optional—it’s part of the program.

✅ Prioritize sleep
✅ Eat enough protein
✅ Stay hydrated
✅ Manage stress
✅ Take rest days when needed
✅ Keep moving, even on recovery days

Remember: You don’t get stronger during your workout. You get stronger when your body recovers from it.

Train hard, recover well, and keep showing up. Consistency beats intensity every time.

Make a Plan!!💁🏻‍♀️

Here are some ideas and photos from my kitchen:

• Prep veggies• Pre-cook rice or potatoes• Cook ground beef• Grill chicken• Bake sweet potatoes• Cook a steak or two- YOU CAN DO THIS!💙

You have to eat anyway—being prepared beats being perfect every time. 💪🍽️

Happy 16th Wedding Anniversary to us! 💙

Cheers to 16 amazing years, countless memories, and many more crazy adventures together. 🥂🍾

There’s always a story with us two, and we wouldn’t change a single chapter for the world. ❤️✨

Side note: I’d love to go back to the beautiful backyard where we were married and recreate our wedding photos again like we did last year... but our friends sold the house, and I don’t think the new owners would take too kindly to us showing up for an anniversary photo shoot in their backyard! 😂💁🏻‍♀️ I could be wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe next year 💁🏻‍♀️😂.

It’s Wednesday… and we eat a lot of food in our house. Especially protein. 💪🏼

Tonight I’m having leftover turkey over a salad, but while we’re eating, I’m also cooking up more ground chicken and ground beef for the next few days.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner—it doesn’t matter. Having protein cooked and ready to go makes life a whole lot easier.

People often think they need a complicated meal plan or hours of meal prep. Most of the time, they just need a plan.

Today’s prep took about 15 minutes:
✅ Ground chicken
✅ Ground beef
✅ Containers
✅ Done

Planning ahead is how routines and habits are built. Keep it simple.

And yes… that’s Max, the Rooftop Cat. 🐈😂 (if you haven’t seen his rooftop antics go back a few posts!)

Waiting in the rain for his dinner like he hasn’t eaten in weeks. His neighborhood reputation and protein intake are apparently equally important.

Apparently, protein isn’t just important for humans. 💪🏼🐈‍⬛

I saved this picture from someone’s post over 10 years ago and I’ve probably sent it to hundreds of clients since then. 😆

While it’s obviously meant to be funny, there’s a lot of truth behind it.

You can do all the crunches, planks, and ab workouts you want, but if your nutrition doesn’t support your goals, your abs will stay hidden. TRUTH!

Abs aren’t built from one magic exercise. They’re revealed by consistent habits:

✅ Prioritize protein
✅ Eat plenty of vegetables
✅ Lift weights
✅ Do your damn cardio
✅ Stay active outside the gym
✅ Be consistent

The goal isn’t perfection—it’s making better choices more often than not!!!

You don’t need a six-pack to be healthy, but you do need habits that support the results you’re looking for.
