At last night’s Dry Practice event in Lynnwood, Chief Instructor Brandon focused us on “Shooting From Unconventional Positions.” For the event recap, a picture is worth 1000 Facebook words, so here’s 5000 words worth to enjoy. 👍

At Tuesday’s Live Fire event in Everett, Chief Instructor Brandon led a great group of ADTA members through a wide variety of skills and drills.
In this reaction drill, shooter 1 draws and shoots. Shooter 2 reacts by drawing and shooting as soon as they see shooter 1 start their handgun draw.

Hi. Brandon here. I know so many people that carry a gun and go to the range occasionally but don’t actually train. Not here to hard sell you because you are a grown adult, but maybe you’ll also enjoy this compelling article. Your thoughts and comments are welcome.

Nice group last night at our Live-Fire in Bellevue. New member Ray shot entirely strong hand only thanks to hand surgery two days earlier. Member Mat brought a fun drill… starting with 3 shuffled, partial mags (4/5/6 rounds), shooters advanced toward 3 threats, maneuvering around barriers and dealing with emergency reloads. Then, retreating back in a similar fashion. The drill concluded with a balloon pop at 20 yards. So fun!

We brought out the AR’s for week’s Live Fire event in Everett. Many of us don’t spend enough quality time with these carbines. I had a blast leading the group through a series of intermediate-level skills and drills. Back to handguns next time. Let us know if you wanna check ADTA out.

ADTA members- This month is unusual as we will be training with your AR-15’s at the next Everett Live-Fire event. See you soon with America’s Rifle!
Great group of shooters at last week’s Live-Fire event in Bellevue. Thanks to ADTA Training Director Doreen Sarles, here’s a breakdown of one of the thought provoking drills they ran. Great stuff!
“The sticky notes on each target were numbers. The drill was to shoot the targets in order, by number, without hitting the others. The shooter could only move left and right between a set of cones approximately 10 ft apart. Numbers were juggled between shooters.”
