Today we had the opportunity to dance at the beautiful Hidden Springs Historical Barn for the Ada Community Library Hidden Springs Branch library!

Fun facts:
โ€ข The barn was built around 1865 by Philip Schick.
โ€ข It is believed to be the oldest standing barn in Ada County.
โ€ข It has been beautifully maintained and lovingly preserved.
โ€ข To keep it preserved, we put down our Marley floor to help protect the gorgeous wood floor... and it was still deafening! ๐Ÿ˜‚ What a floor! It might be among our favorites!

It was an honor to share Irish dancing culture and heritage with the library today. Thank you so much for having us. We loved every minute of it! โ˜˜๏ธ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ America is turning 250 years old!

We were thrilled to receive a message from the Irish Traditional Music Archive announcing the launch of a digital atlas celebrating Irish dance, music, and song traditions across all 50 states.

We're honored to represent Idaho by contributing "Simpler Jig," a tune composed and whistled by our very own Spencer Ingram. It's a unique piece, and we're so proud to share a little of Idaho's Irish dancing tradition as part of this incredible project! โ˜˜๏ธ๐Ÿ’š

Full video with more professional camera angles is now up on our YouTube channel (link in bio). This post was filmed using a small tripod to capture different angles ๐Ÿ˜œ

Thanks to Elise Provant and our awesome dance parents for the video assistance!

As part of our Long Journey Home Summer Challenge, we're taking inspiration from Ireland through dance, music, food, and all kinds of adventures.

One activity we couldn't resist? A photo shoot inspired by our friends at .

Were we completely captivated by their stunning studio photos? Absolutely.

Were we a tiny bit jealous? Also absolutely. ๐Ÿ˜†

We're choosing to call it inspiration.

Here are a few of our favorite shots, and a big thank you to for the creative spark! โ˜˜๏ธ

What do Irish dancers, fairy wings, classic cars, and Idaho history have in common?
Apparently, Idaho City!

We had a wonderful day performing at the Boise Basin Library's Fairy Festival and exploring everything this charming little town has to offer.

We love the Fairies and Gnomes festival put on by the Boise Basin Library and loved hearing Caldwell Police Pipes and Drums!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, cheered us on, and helped make the day so special. We already can't wait for next year! โ˜˜๏ธ

Have you ever listened to Long Journey Home by The Chieftains?

It gets me every time.

Inspired by the story of Irish immigration, our own Irish heritage, and the celebration of America's 250th birthday, we're excited to introduce our 2026 Summer Challenge: Long Journey Home.

Students will embark on a symbolic journey from Ireland to Idaho and back to Ireland by completing:

โ˜˜๏ธ 50 days
โ˜˜๏ธ 15 minutes each day
โ˜˜๏ธ Practice, drills, stretching, and skill-building

Every practice session moves them a little farther along the journey, honoring the courage, perseverance, and hope carried by those who crossed an ocean in search of a new life.

It's a challenge about consistency, growth, and remembering the paths that brought us here.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to stop listening to that song before I start crying again.

Behind every pointed toe is someone cheering from the sidelines, driving to class, finding the other shoe, tying the other shoe, packing snacks, and applauding - and sometimes even joining the dance!

Happy Motherโ€™s Day to all the dance moms, grandmas, aunts, and helpers who make the magic happen. โ˜˜๏ธ๐Ÿ’š
