This spring there was a lot to celebrate for our HS Girls Varsity Team (…State Champions for the 3rd straight year…undefeated season 2 years in a row…) but we wanted to make sure you knew just how special this team was, and update you on a few recent USA Lacrosse accolades that just got published:

🏆 Head Coach Maddie Johnson was named US Lacrosse Coach of the Year AND Montana High School Lacrosse Association Coach of the Year, with thanks to her all-star assistant coaching staff Emma Beecher, Emma Getsinger and Bridget Kitchen

🏆 Zoe Bosch (‘26) was named US Lacrosse All-Academic for the second year in a row AND US Lacrosse Jackie Pitts Award recipient, a standout honor for our team as these awards go out to only one player in the entire MHSLA league (scoring us 3 of the total 4 2026 US Lacrosse awards)

🏆 A MHSLA league-high SEVEN players (Dani Fagan, Dylan Witherite, Jesper Hsu, Elowyn Hansen, Harlie Toolson, Lou Adams, + Zoe Bosch) were named 1st Team All-State, with FOUR players making 2nd Team All-State (Brey Mallen, Finley Peightal, Crosby Kelly + Cash Jaeger) and THREE getting Honorable Mention (Lincoln Merritt, Annika Berge, + Nell MacGregor)

🏆 Another MHSLA league-high SEVEN players made the US Lacrosse National Team, which brings the top freshmen-juniors to play against teams from across the country in upstate New York (Harlie Toolson, Brey Mallen, Dani Fagan, Lucy Jorgensen, Violet Vignaroli, Kate Furmanek, and Lou Adams)

And all that ^^ doesn’t even capture the teamwork, growth, leadership, and community this squad is best known for. These girls are gritty, hard working, passionate, and kind, and absolutely building a better JHLC program. Grateful for all those who came before and got us here, and excited for all that is to come.

🙌🙌 LET’S GIVE IT UP FOR OUR GIRLS 🙌🙌

“I’m going to represent the club as best as I can tonight.” - Gavin Romaine, rising junior defenseman.

Figure 8 Races tonight at the county fair.
The torch has been passed from Sully Nields to Gavin Romaine as the JH Lacrosse car driver, and a new JHLC tradition of the annual Figure 8’s car is born.

Good luck Gavin! Go JH Lacrosse!

🌟 RISING STAR ALERT 🌟

Huge congrats to rising junior Brey Mallen, who was just named a 2028 Rising Star by US Club Lax! Brey earned a 4.63/5 rating, making her the 6th highest ranked attacker in the Class of 2028 nationwide.

This summer Brey has been repping Jackson Hole on the east coast with Delco 2028 Elite out of Philadelphia, and the team went undefeated all summer!

So proud to see a JH kid making waves on the national stage. Keep shining, Brey! 🥍✨

Our Girls 7/8 squad at the RAD Memorial Tournament today — one of our favorite days on the JHLC calendar. 🥍🏔️

This team has had an awesome season. They’ve had some losses but have been in every single game. And then there’s that game. The iMlax playoffs, #8 seed vs. #1 seed, down 6-1 at halftime. They won 7-6 on a buzzer be**er. It may go down as the greatest underdog comeback in Jackson Hole Lacrosse history. 🤯💪

Couldn’t be prouder of these kids — and grateful for Coach Bill, who has been coaching lacrosse for over 32 years. A Hamilton College player who went on to Yale Divinity School, and now Head of School at Jackson Hole Community School’s new middle school. These girls are in great hands. 💙🤍🙌

Go Jackson Hole Lacrosse!

Jackson Hole girls' lacrosse team wins third consecutive championship 05/20/2026

It’s now been two full years since the Jackson Hole girls lost a league game, and with their undefeated regular season record, they earned a first-round bye in the playoff tournament last weekend.

Their first game was against Bozeman on Saturday. Jackson won 23-6 in what Johnson described as “one of the best games of lacrosse I’ve seen our girls play.”

Jackson then the closest game its played in two years against its Northwest Avalanche rivals.

Jackson went 3-0 against Northwest in the regular season, and the tightest contest was 8-5.

Adams had six saves for a 67% save percentage. The last one was the biggest, proving that the old coach’s cliche, “defense wins championships,” still rings true.

“That girl is the exact type of goalie you want to have on your team,” said Johnson, who was assisted this year by Emma Beecher, Emma Getsinger and Bridget Kitchen. “She has a level head, she has incredibly composed, calm energy, she is really coachable.

“She won us that game, hands down.”

In 5th straight title game appearance, Jackson boys' lacrosse team falls short of return to glory 05/20/2026

For the fifth straight season, the Jackson Hole Lacrosse varsity boys’ team appeared in its league championship game, but on Saturday, for the second consecutive spring, it lost in the title match.

The Jackson boys went undefeated in the regular season and secured the No. 1 overall seed for the Great Western Lacrosse League postseason tournament, drawing defending champions Mt. Spokane from Washington.

Last spring, the two teams met in the title game, and Mt. Spokane won 12-4. In their first matchup all spring on Friday in Pocatello, Idaho, after trailing for more than three quarters, Jackson won 7-6. Max White scored two late goals in the fourth quarter to jump ahead of the reigning champions.

MHSLA D2 Runner-Up. 🥍

The JV Broncs finished their season yesterday as state runner-ups — competing against varsity programs all season long. These guys worked extremely hard all season, and making it to the championship game means a lot to them and to our entire program.

JHLC salutes this team. Please join us in recognizing a great group of young men and a great season. 💪👏

Jackson Hole Lacrosse teams finish regular seasons unbeaten 05/13/2026

Next up is the league tournament.

The Montana High School Lacrosse League will begin its postseason in Bozeman on Friday, but because Jackson went undefeated during the regular season and earned the top seed, it has been rewarded a first-round bye. Jackson’s first game will be on Saturday against the winner of Bozeman and the Jackson B team.

“Everyone loves competing, and that’s the biggest thing,” Elowyn Hansen said. “Everyone wants to win. Everyone’s excited to get out there.”

The Jackson Hole Lacrosse varsity boys’ team also is the top seed for its league playoffs, but it will not receive a bye in the first round.

At 9 a.m. on Friday in Pocatello, the Jackson boys will see Mt. Spokane — a rematch of last year’s championship game.

Today we celebrate the educators who go far beyond the classroom.

Big-time shoutout to our coaches in Teton County School District who do it all — by day, they are educators shaping minds; by afternoon and evening, they’re building athletes, leaders, and teammates on the field.

Your impact reaches far beyond the game. You make our community stronger, better, and more connected.

We see you. We appreciate you more than you know. 💙
