Dear Without Limits Community,
Next year will be our 20th season, and it’s hard to put into words the gratitude we feel for all of you helping us reach this milestone. Every year we release a “theme” for the upcoming year. Capturing the wild journey of over 200 triathlons and 300 cycling races comes down to one thing. When Tony and I dreamed up our first race, the Summer OPEN Triathlon, back in the fall of 2007, we had one goal. The endurance racing scene at the time was fragmented. Races catered either to elites or just beginners, and they were either hyper-organized and soulless or laid-back and chaotic. We wanted to deliver an experience that felt both structured yet chill, a place where elite amateurs and first-timers could feel at home. As we grew into other areas of the endurance world (cycling, cyclocross, off-road triathlons, gravel triathlon), the mission evolved. Our vision is that the endurance playground is one cohesive community of athletes. There’s nothing better than seeing a road triathlete try a gravel race, a runner finish their first triathlon, or a road cyclist experience the shenanigans of cyclocross. At our core, we all come into this community to challenge ourselves, to push our limits, and to embrace the unknown, but also to share the highs and lows with those we love. Through that, we’ve found new best friends, lifelong partners, and created countless memories we’ll share with our grandkids someday.
For next season, the theme is simple but captures that dream from 20 years ago: (The logo reflects and pays homage to our most iconic look from that very first Summer OPEN Triathlon.)
A community is made up of its traditions and stories. Over the coming year, we’ll be sharing some of the wildest behind-the-scenes accounts, honoring the long-time A-Team members who made the magic happen, and paying thanks to the partners who made it all possible.
Our first and most deserving shout-out goes to Darrin & Jill Eisman of Racing Underground. Darrin was our very first call when we wanted to start a race. Knowing absolutely nothing about the industry, he took us under his wing. We can’t thank his family enough for the countless 3 a.m. race set-ups, the endless sarcasm, and for the trust they placed in us by passing the torch of their long-standing Harvest Moon, Stroke & Stride, and Littlefoot races.
For next season, we invite you all to , try new types of racing, and explore different parts of the endurance community. Registration for all triathlons is currently live, with discounted pricing through the end of October.
With passion and appreciation,
Lance and the entire Without Limits A-Team
