Samurai Bujutsu Curriculum & Ninjutsu Instruction under the Kazan Ryu Bujutsu system, founded by Jeffrey Ingram. Bujutsu is the art of war and military science.
Bujutsu was used by the feudal warriors known as the Samurai for survival, knowledge, and defense. Alongside their Bujutsu, the Samurai also employed the skills and knowledge of Shinobi-no-jutsu, or better known as Ninjutsu. This course offers introductory, and advanced training in a variety of Samurai unarmed combat techniques (Taijutsu/Jujutsu), Japanese and Okinawan weapons, Ninjutsu, leadershi
p, confidence building, discipline, respect, and healthy physical exercise for youth and adult learners. Kazan Ryu is a true self defense system and not a tournament, sport, or olympic style martial art. Kazan Ryu offers a "gendai" or modern approach and application to Bujutsu, while still adhering to the tradition of the Samurai of feudal Japan. Kazan Ryu Bujutsu is also an affiliated group of the Natori Ryu, a resurrected Samurai school under the direction of Antony Cummins and Andrew Thoburn. As an affiliated group we at Kazan Ryu Bujutsu train in the Samurai and Shinobi skills published in the Book of Samurai and True Path of the Ninja, also known as the Shoninki, alongside our own Bujutsu, and Ninjutsu practices. Natori Ryu is a separate entity from Kazan Ryu and offers no rank or promotion within its system, just knowledge, history, and skill. A black gi or Karate uniform and training weapons are required for Kazan Ryu Bujutsu, and not included in the class fee. Testing for belt and rank advancement for all Bujutsu levels is also a separate charge for all students. For more information please email Jeff Ingram, Hanshi at: [email protected]
