I built this framework after 20+ years watching emergency responders prevent incidents before they happen. The difference? They don't operate in fear-they operate in awareness. These 10 habits aren't about paranoia; they're about competence. You can start practicing them today, in any environment, with zero equipment. For healthcare workers, parents, and security pros: this is how you move from reactive to prepared. The R.E.A.C.T. model starts with Recognize-and recognition is a skill you can build right now. Pick one habit this week. That's how it begins.

These 10 habits aren't about living in fear-they're about living in control. I've trained thousands of adults who thought they weren't 'the type' to do self-defense. Then they realized awareness isn't paranoia; it's a skill you can build starting today.

The magic happens in Recognize and Evaluate. Master those two phases, and everything else follows. Your threat detection system is already there-these habits just sharpen it.

Ready to turn awareness into muscle memory? Book your first live class and start building the foundation that changes how you move through the world.

You're already doing more than you think. The scan-your-surroundings instinct? That's Recognize. The gut feeling that something's off? That's Evaluate. We've built 10 awareness habits into the R.E.A.C.T. framework so you can stop second-guessing yourself and start trusting your preparation. Which habit resonates most with what you're already doing-and which one feels like the gap you want to close? Drop it in the comments. We'll build from there.

We've trained over 10,000 Denverites - and we've seen the patterns. Most of us have at least one awareness gap we don't even know exists. That's not a weakness; it's just human. The good news? These 10 habits are built on what actually works in real life, not theory.

Which one hits different for you? Drop a comment: Which tip are you committing to this week - and why? We're genuinely curious what resonates most with how you move through your day.

Your permit's a countdown. I've seen too many people wait until 30 days out and regret it-stress, limited class spots, unnecessary scrambling. If you're within 4 months of expiry, now's the time to knock this out. My renewal classes fill fast, especially this time of year. Spots are limited right now. Register today and you're covered for the next 5 years-one less thing to worry about. DM me or call to lock in your seat.

I've worked with enough victims and law enforcement to tell you this: cyberstalking almost never stays online. It follows a predictable escalation pattern-and if you know what to look for, you can stop it before it reaches your front door.

Here's what I mean:

Stage 1: Digital Harassment Only
Messages, comments, tags, unwanted contact across platforms. Feels invasive but still contained to screens.
→ Document: Screenshots with timestamps, account names, exact message text, dates/times
→ Report to: Platform (block, report abuse), local police (file report for record)

Stage 2: Real-World Reconnaissance
The person shows up where you are-your workplace, gym, favorite coffee spot. They're watching. Gathering intel. Testing your routine.
→ Document: Dates, times, locations, what they were doing, any photos/video if safe to take, vehicle info if applicable
→ Report to: Police (escalation report), employer/venue security, trusted contacts

Stage 3: Direct Physical Threat
Face-to-face confrontation, explicit threats, attempts at contact or access to your home/family.
→ Document: Everything-record if legal in your state, witness statements, any physical evidence
→ Report to: Police immediately (file protective order petition), attorney (restraining order), emergency services if you feel in danger

The key: evidence transforms you from reactive to protective. When you have a documented timeline and specifics, law enforcement and courts can act. You move from victim to witness with leverage.

If you're experiencing this or want to learn how to recognize and respond to escalating threats, reach out. This is exactly the kind of real-world safety strategy we cover in our personal protection and awareness training.
