St. Al's Gators Athletics

It was a busy weekend on the pitch for our Gators student-athletes, including an exciting 3-2 win today for Gator Emily and her St. Antoninus girls' wings side against Gators Lilliann, Lydia and Hazel, and their Lourdes side at Cleves Park.

Also today, Gator Scarlett and her St. Antoninus girls’ strikers side tied Three Rivers, 3-3, at Cleves Park.

On Saturday, Coach Gassett's St. Al's boys' kicker fell to St. Jude.

It was a GREAT day to be a Gator as our boys’ and girls’ pre-passers played amazingly against St. Jude Sunday afternoon at Cleves Park!

Sure, we don't keep score at this totally instructional level, and all the kids played hard. The staff here at TWIGA has confirmed, however, that once again, our young Gators found the back of the net three times!

And then, there were snacks ...

It was a great game on the pitch Saturday morning as as Gators Charlies (2) and the Coaches Welsh (2) led their Lourdes boys’ wings side (1-1-2) in a thrilling 8-8 tie against second-place St. Ignatius (2-1-1) in a mud bowl at Delhi Park.

These boys were coming off their first win of the season Tuesday and they remain near the top of the standings in their division.

Sign-ups for boys’ basketball remain for Grades 2-8 and will run through Sept. 18 at 11:59 p.m.

That date of Sept. 18 is FINAL for Grades 5-8 this year as we will begin to work with our partners in FMHE to craft competitive teams in those grades. Your son will have a chance to try out for a competitive A team. We will also have B abd C teams available, so of course, boys not making the A team will still be placed on a team to play this season.

Try-out dates will be sent at a later date. Grades 2-4 will play differing levels of instructional ball.

Our St. Al’s football players and their St. Jude teammates will hit the road for the first time this season when they travel to Immaculate Heart of Mary on Beechmont Avenue on the east side.

As September continues, so too does our busy fall schedule of baseball, cheerleading, football and soccer. Several teams were in action throughout the last week, and we’ll be competing all weekend. What a night it was Thursday for Gators Lilliann, Lydia and Hazel, and their Lourdes girls’ wings side in a massive 8-2 win over CPA at Cleves Park!

Lydia was a nightmare for CPA with five goals and Piper added two goals while Aaliyah scored one.

Go Gators and Tigers!

It was a GREAT night to be a Gator and a Tiger Tuesday as Coaches Welsh and Gators Charlie, Charlie and Max and their Lourdes boys’ wings side earned their first win of the season in a thrilling 7-2 final over Dater at Cleves Park.

In fact, St. Al's fourth-grader Max tallied two goals in the win.

The Welshes' crew moved into third place in their division with a 1-1-1 record after their first win. The boys we getting close through their first two games, tying this same Dater side in the season opener before narrowing falling last weekend to Three Rivers by a single goal.

It sure came together tonight, so congratulations boys and coaches. They'll be back on the pitch Saturday at 10:20 a.m. at Delhi Park where they'll take on second-place St. Ignatius.
