Holden and Connor beat the Rain at Hidden Valley
July 3, 2026
Clearfield, PA - Jimmy Holden of Tiona and Brandon Connor of Penfield were the only winners on July 3rd at Hidden Valley Speedway, before Mother Nature claimed the rest of the show.
Jimmy Holden and Craig Casher led the Small Block Modifieds to the green flag, with Holden taking the lead and Casher sitting second. The race saw Holden hold the lead with C. Casher in second and Levi Picard in third. A caution on lap 8 slowed the field for the first time, with Picard lining up beside Casher, and on the restart, Picard was able to steal second from Casher, who had to fight back, but then Casher spun on lap 14 in turn one, nearly collecting his brother, Aaron. When Sam McClellan waved the green again Holden continued to lead and Picard was still second, but when the double checkered flags waved, it was Holden winning over Picard, A. Cashier, Kyle Holden and Trent Ogden. Holden won the heat.
Heat race winners Rich Howell and Fuzzy Fields brought the Penn Ohio Pro Stocks to the green flag, with Howell taking the lead and holding on the the top spot for the first eight laps, then, exiting turn three into turn four, Howell got high and Connor dove under for the lead and a lap later, Fields moved into second. Connor set the pace, with Fields now second, and closing in on the leader, but Fields ran out of times, as Conner went on to get his fifth feature win of the season. Fields was second, with Bruce Hartzfeld, Jim Bloom Howell rounding out the top five.
The Semi Late Feature was on lap 11 when the rains hit and that race will be completed on July 11 at the beginning of the program. The Pure Stock and Four Cylinder races will be made up at later times.
