Today, it’s an honor to highlight one of our longtime members, “Michelle Hémery”. She recently rejoined our nutrition program & has seen some incredible results. Let’s hear what Michelle has to say about her experience. Take it away, Michelle …

“I’ve been here before, struggling to manage my weight. I felt stuck & frustrated. I tried and failed several times … but not because the tools given to me to lose weight weren’t good. I just didn’t want to listen or give up what I felt I “deserved”. I wanted my cake and to eat it too. I felt I deserved to eat and drink, because I work out 4-5 times a week & HARD.

Then, last year that was taken away from me. I tore my ACL and ended up having surgery. I could no longer use working out as an excuse - AKA my fitness crutch to justify my relationship with food. So, I continued to eat and drink and I gained weight. I chose to stay on the other side of the camera for family pictures or hid behind others in the photo. I felt ashamed! I made a promise to myself that January would be the time I would start working on changing my unhealthy habits. I signed up for the 1:1 nutrition program with LPF. I listened & followed the guidelines that were given to me by Aida and I pushed myself in the gym. Slowly, I started seeing the changes, even before everyone else did. There were small decreases on the scale. My face, neck and body started changing as I ate to fuel my workouts, not my desires. I no longer treated food as a reward for making it to the gym and working out hard. I became consistent in my exercise and eating habits and created a NEW mindset.

I’ve lost 30lbs to date while on the nutrition program and I feel AMAZING. I went from a size 10 to a size 4. I’m officially 129.2 (130 was my goal weight). I jump at any chance to take a picture of myself, because I’ve put in the work and I want to be part of my families’ memories. Yes, there were days I wanted to give up. But as Aida reminded me, it took years to gain the weight so it will take time to lose it. There is NO magic pill to help you lose it all in a month unless you starve yourself. And no … you can’t out train a bad diet. It takes time & consistency. It takes determination. It takes all the cheerleaders you can get on your side.

I’m very grateful for the guidance I received by my accountability coach Aida, as well as the encouragement of the LPF team, my husband, my gym community, my friends & family. If any of this sounds familiar to you & you’re struggling with your nutrition or your fitness … give LPF a try. You won’t regret it. You can start TODAY!”

Can you do CrossFit if you have pre-existing conditions like back pain, limited shoulder mobility or a bad knee? In most cases, the answer is yes!

Here’s what Diana had to say about her experience with CrossFit… and as someone looking for a gym who understood her goals & her limitations.

“I have two herniated discs in my lower back and three in my neck from prior motorcycle accidents. I am an athlete at heart! I love working out, so you can only imagine how frustrating it’s been not be able to workout because of my injuries or because I feel afraid of making things worse.

has changed my life for the better! I’ve only been doing Crossfit for a few months and my back pain is finally under control - I feel motivated again. Aida patiently showed me how to perform each Crossfit exercise properly, she taught me stretches that I can do to help alleviate pain, as well as accessory exercises to help strengthen my back and the surrounding areas. Members Avi and Nikhil are the sons of Navin and Regina Gupta. This family has been a fixture in our community for almost two years. Avi and Nikhil continue to work hard every day making fitness their #1 priority.

Let’s see what keeps Avi and Nikhil motivated….

Avi:
I love going to the Kid Fit classes at . The members are all very friendly and the coaches are super nice! My coaches help me learn new movements and teach me to do things I never thought I could do. They are constantly motivating me to believe in myself and do the impossible at times. I enjoy working out with all the kids and having my brother with me also.

Nikhil:
When we started the kids' class, I was excited to get stronger and increase my fitness level. The coaches are very encouraging and willing to take the time to teach me all the movements. The workouts are different every time. We are constantly learning in every workout. has helped me become healthier and a better version of myself.

Let's find out what Danielle says about her & her families experience as LPF members…

“We are the Hernandez family - Yas, Danielle, Mason (10), Briella (8), and Harper (2), and we’ve been a part of the family for over 5 years now. Yas has always been a physically active person. He played baseball his whole life and went to a conventional gym. But me, not so much. I found CrossFit LPF about two years after my second child was born. I needed something to de-stress from my everyday life of working and being a mom. I fell in love, convinced Yas to join me and we’ve been training together ever since. Along came baby #3 and I continued to work out with the help of the amazing coaches. They guided me through a healthy pregnancy and post c-section surgery.

A year later, Yas and I started to compete in competitions. Our kids watched from the sidelines and talked about “being as strong as mommy and daddy”. With the help of Kid Fit, both Briella and Mason also get to enjoy this amazing sport. LPF has not only helped us physically, but it’s also helped us grow as a couple, a family, and we’ve made some amazing lifelong friends.”

Looking for a Healthy but YUMMY Chicken Quesadilla recipe? Here you go! You’re welcome! 😋

“HEALTHY CHICKEN QUESADILLA”

Ingredients:
4oz. of rotisserie chicken (remove the skin)

1 “Xtreme Wrap” tortilla

70g of fat free cheddar cheese

½ red bell pepper

½ orange bell pepper

½ (small) red onion

2 tablespoons of light sour cream

Avocado Oil Spray

salt & pepper to taste!

Chop up the onions, peppers, & chicken to your liking

-

Spray the pan with oil. Sauté & season the onions & peppers until they are caramelized (medium high)

Remove the onions & peppers, then heat up your tortilla in the same pan

-

On one side only - layer ½ the cheese, chicken, peppers & onions. Then add the rest of the cheese on top.

Fold the tortilla, cover & let it sit on medium low for 3 min, then flip it over & do the same on the other side.

Add your sour cream & ENJOY! 💪🏼

Total Prep Time: 15-20

Carbs = 31.3g
Fat = 19.2g
Protein 52.2g
