Workplace wellbeing isn't built through mission statements, wellness weeks, or good intentions alone. It's built through the small, everyday actions that shape how people experience work.
It's found in shared values, mutual respect, psychological safety, and a culture where people feel valued for who they are, not just what they do. When organizations consistently invest in their people, engagement grows, trust deepens, and teams are better equipped to do their best work.
Creating that kind of culture doesn't happen overnight, but it is possible (and it's some of our favorite work to do!). If your organization is ready to take a fresh look at how you're supporting your employees and building a culture where people can truly thrive, send us a message!

What would happen if a key leader in your organization left tomorrow?
It's not always a comfortable question, but it's an important one. Strong nonprofits don't leave leadership transitions to chance. Instead, they prepare for them.
At New Chapter Coaching, we help organizations build leadership continuity through succession planning. Whether you're preparing for unexpected transitions, developing future leaders, or creating policies that support long-term sustainability, succession planning is about more than filling positions. It's about protecting your mission and ensuring your organization can thrive through change. Because the best time to plan for leadership transitions isn't when they happen, but BEFORE they happen.
If you're ready to build a stronger, more resilient future for your organization, we'd love to help! Learn more at www.NewChapterCoach.com/Succession-Planning.

Summer is here! And with it comes visions of rest for many of us. Taking time off from work is critical to employee well-being AND it's a good business practice for employers too. Research finds that employee time off can:
⛱ Boost productivity
🛶 Reduce absenteeism
🧑🏾🌾 Improve employee mental health
👫🏿 Improve employee acquisition and retention
🪢 Improve organizational culture
So, what can you do? In your next 1:1, ask those who report to you what their plans are for taking some time off this summer. If they don't have them, encourage them to think about what might make that possible!

Looking for a fun way to get involved with a local org this month? Our friends at The Center Project are hosting their annual Rainbow Ride & Pride Picnic on June 13 and they're looking for volunteers to help make this community celebration a success! Volunteers are needed for everything from event setup and rider check-in to serving food and water throughout the day.
As a thank you, volunteers will receive a free t-shirt, food, a rainbow lanyard, and an entry into a raffle for a Center Project picnic blanket. Now that sounds like a good deal 😉
Plus, all proceeds from the event support TCP's Emergency Fund, providing financial support to LGBTQIA+ adults and/or dependents in Mid-Missouri experiencing financial insecurity and lack of support in our community.

If you worked here, you would have just received an email encouraging you to leave work two hours early. No excuses. The work will still be there in the morning, right?! Psst...how might you subtly tell your supervisor about this glorious national holiday? We know you nonprofit leaders deserve this -- and so much more.

When things feel uncertain, many organizations pause planning altogether. “Things are changing too fast,” they say. “We’ll plan when things settle down.”
But uncertainty is exactly when strategic planning matters most.
A strong strategic plan doesn’t lock you in— it creates clarity, alignment, and the flexibility to adapt with confidence. It helps teams focus on what matters, learn from what’s working, and move forward together instead of reacting in survival mode.
At New Chapter Coaching, our strategic planning process is built for this reality. We bring teams together around shared priorities, surface patterns of success, and turn insight into practical, usable plans (not documents that sit on a shelf). The result is more than a plan. It’s alignment, direction, and confidence in how to move forward.
We do more nonprofit strategic planning than almost anything else, and we do it well. If your organization is ready to move from reactive to intentional, we’d love to help you plan for what’s next. Learn more at NewChapterCoach.com/Strategic-Planning.

🌈 Happy Pride Month from the New Chapter Coaching team! 🌈
As an LGBTQ+ founded and led organization, Pride Month is both a celebration and a reminder of the importance of creating communities where everyone feels seen, valued, safe, and supported.
We're continually inspired by the LGBTQ+ leaders, advocates, nonprofit professionals, and community members who make our workplaces, organizations, and communities stronger through their courage, authenticity, and commitment to building a more inclusive world.
Pride is also an opportunity to move beyond celebration and into action. Whether you're a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, consider how you can show support this month, whether it's by supporting LGBTQ+ organizations and businesses, attending local Pride events, continuing to learn from LGBTQ+ voices, or advocating for inclusion where you live and work. We encourage you to explore the Human Rights Campaign’s workplace equality resources (www.hrc.org/resources/workplace) and find LGBTQ+ community centers and organizations near you through CenterLink’s directory (www.lgbtqcenters.org)!
At its heart, Pride is about community, resilience, authenticity, and joy, and those are values worth celebrating all year long. How are you celebrating, supporting, or showing up for your community this month? We'd love to hear it and share!
