In the Nine Mile Hole / Land Cut area of the Laguna Madre, Texas, lies the wreckage of a North American B-25 Mitchell bomber.
This twin-engine medium bomber, used extensively for WWII and postwar training (including bombing/gunnery runs along the Texas coast), crashed around 1947 during a training flight. The pilot reportedly survived.
The visible remains include a heavily corroded Wright R-2600 Cyclone twin-row radial engine (14 cylinders, ~1,700 hp), matching the encrusted twin banks of cylinders in your photo. Such wrecks are known locally among fishermen in this shallow bay.
