✨ NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS ✨

Auditions for Dallas Ballet Company’s 40th annual production of The Nutcracker will take place Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13!

Auditions are open to currently enrolled DBC ballet students who meet the following requirements:

🩰 Females: age 6 by September 1, 2026, with at least one full year of ballet training
🩰 Males: age 7 by September 1, 2026

IMPORTANT DATES + DETAILS:

• Online registration closes at midnight on Wednesday, September 9
• Audition fee: $50 per dancer
• A parent or adult representative must attend ONE required informational meeting:

Thursday, September 10 at 7:45 PM
Friday, September 11 at 7:00 PM
Saturday, September 12 at 8:15 AM

The audition payment link will be provided at the parent meeting. Dancers may not audition without payment.

Missed the registration deadline? Late registration will be available in person for $65. Please arrive at least one hour before your dancer’s audition time to register and pay.

Adult Ballet Class with Gloria Erwez! Starting Tuesday, September 1st, the Dallas Ballet Center will be adding additional multilevel adult ballet classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class time will be 9:30 am-11:00 am and taught by our own, Gloria Erwez!

Get a head start on Nutcracker auditions at our prep classes on Sat, Sept 5! Prep classes are taught by Dallas Ballet Company dancers and proceeds from the class go to support Dallas Ballet Company, a 501c3 organization!

We are thrilled to welcome Olivier Pardina back to Dallas Ballet Center for the next two weeks to work with our dancers on technique and variations! Mr. Pardina will teach select classes while here as well. Have you signed up for your privates?!

Mr. Pardina is a distinguished ballet coach, including coaching two Prix de Lausanne winners and coaching the first ever Grand Prix winner of the YAGP finals in NY.

He served as principal teacher for the trainee program at Miami City Ballet, is a former Artistic Director of the Nice Opera Ballet in France, and taught at the HARID Conservatory.

Mr. Pardina’s professional dance career includes International Principal dancer, and he replaced Rudolph Nureyev at the Covent Garden in London.

Mr. Pardina comes to Dallas Ballet Center 4-6 times a year to work with our dancers!

Celebrating the start to our 2026-27 dance year at Orientation yesterday! Our youngest dancers toured the studios and took mini classes with members of Dallas Ballet Company !

Whether you are a prospective or new family, or simply a returning family looking to reconnect, don’t miss the New Family Orientation on Saturday, August 15, at 10am!

Owners and Artistic Directors Judy and Brent Klopfenstein will go over everything your dancer needs to know to thrive at all ages and skill levels.

Dancers will have the opportunity to meet each other as well as some of our esteemed faculty, and may even meet some members of the Dallas Ballet Company !

Immediately following there will be a special pop up shop from our friends at Sandy’s Dancewear !

Attention dancers- Silas Farley will be teaching class tomorrow, Monday, 7/20, and next Wednesday, 7/29, from 5-6:30pm! This is your sign to get back in the studio!!!

Silas Farley currently serves as Armstrong Artist in Residence in Ballet in the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University (SMU). He is a former dancer with New York City Ballet and former Dean of the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute at The Colburn School in Los Angeles, CA.

Farley began his training in Charlotte, NC and completed his ballet training at the School of American Ballet.

He joined New York City Ballet in 2012 and danced with the Company until 2020. There he performed principal roles in the works of George Balanchine and Christopher Wheeldon and originated roles in ballets by Wheeldon, Lauren Lovette and Justin Peck.

Farley has taught nationally and internationally, including for the School of American Ballet, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, The School at Jacob’s Pillow, Houston Ballet, Slovak National Ballet, Colburn School, Peabody Conservatory, Hartt School, Chautauqua School of Dance, Duke Ellington School of the Arts, University of Southern California Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and the Kennedy Center.

He has choreographed for the School of American Ballet, The School at Jacob’s Pillow, the New York Choreographic Institute, Columbia Ballet Collaborative at Columbia University, Works & Process at The Guggenheim, Houston Ballet, The Washington Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and New York City Ballet. Farley’s choreography has been presented at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, Jacob’s Pillow, The Guggenheim, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in Los Angeles, CA, and Teatro Nacional de Cuba in Havana.
