🎣🎉 Happy Birthday Eve to Todd! 🎉🎣

Todd and some of his lifelong friends made the trip up from the Dallas area on Friday to celebrate with a day on Lake Texoma, and we were ready to put some fish in the boat!

We got things started with some topwater action and found a little schooling activity with a mix of sand bass and stripers. We managed a couple of really nice stripers out of that early run before switching gears and breaking out the slabs.

I started on the same pattern that had been producing the last few days, and early on we found some really good-looking schools of fish. The strange part was they just never really fired up like I expected. They looked like they were fixing to go absolutely nuts on us, but instead we had to pick away at them one fish at a time.

We stayed after them, kept moving, kept grinding, and caught what we could. Then the wind laid down, the sun got bright, and the bite slowed even more. That's fishing!

Fortunately, we were able to finish strong by finding some quality sand bass toward the end of the trip to help fill the cooler and send the crew home with plenty of fish.

Not every day is a wide-open beatdown, but great friends, bent rods, and a birthday celebration on Lake Texoma is still a pretty good way to spend a Friday! 🎂🐟🎣

Randy and Logan had never been on Lake Texoma before, so on Thursday they came out to see what all the excitement was about! 🎣🔥

We caught some GOOD fish on topwater, and then followed it up with some GREAT fish on slabs! The Haymaker Slabs stayed busy once again! We released several overs that were above our limit and also managed to put a good Flathead and Blue Cat in the boat! 🐟💪

Throw a bunch of big sand bass into the mix and it turned into a fantastic day on Texoma with rods bent all day long!

Wednesday started off a little slow for Austin and Whitten, and the fish were running a bit on the small side early. But just like a good baseball game, the 7th inning stretch changed everything! We made a move and ran across a GOOD load of much better fish and things got western in a hurry! 🎣🔥

The Haymaker Slabs were doing WORK once again… slabs be slabbing! 💪

Made a run for the hills when I looked at the radar it came in quick!

Great times on Lake Texoma and plenty of bent rods to go around!

🎣 Clayton got some good grades in school and as a reward he wanted to go striper fishing for some BIG fish on Lake Texoma… and that’s exactly what we did!! 💥🐟

We had a hard time locating the smaller stripers today, but that was okay because the MAGNUM Sand Bass were absolutely chewing on the slabs! 🔥

We also caught and released several BIG stripers over the limit while working slabs out deep! Lots of bent rods, smiling faces, and memories made on Lake Texoma today! 😎🚤

Friday was a fun one! Bud and Shonda came up from Austin to spend the weekend at Tanglewood Resort and fish Lake Texoma for the first time!

We started the morning moving around and throwing some topwater lures and picked up a couple of really nice fish on topwater to kick things off! Then we found some fish running ledges and went to work with the Haymaker Slabs. We caught a bunch of really nice Sand Bass along with some quality stripers and even had to throw back a few big overs that were above our limit!

All in all it was just a great day on Lake Texoma with great people and bent rods!

Please remember all of those who served and sacrificed their lives so we could enjoy the freedoms we have today. 🇺🇸

William brought his family down from Oklahoma on Thursday to Lake Texoma for their very first time ever on the lake! 🎣

No topwater fish for us this morning, but they absolutely put the HAMMER down on these fish with slabs! We boated around 100 fish before the rains rolled in and they decided to call it a day.

Great family, lots of laughs, bent rods, and memories made on Texoma! That slab bite is still getting it done! 🔥

After catching those TOADS on Monday — and cleaning those fish— days two and three with Kevin, Vince, Jeff, and John turned into catch-and-release fun!

These gentlemen fish with me twice a year for 3-day trips, and they only keep fish one of the days. The rest is all about the action and the experience!

We caught fish on topwater, swimbaits, and slabs on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday’s trip got cut a little short because of the storm, but today started out slow and then absolutely LIT UP like fireworks the last hour! 🎣🔥

That’s Lake Texoma for you… sometimes you’ve just got to stay after them until they decide to eat!

Great times with a great group of guys once again!

‼️94 inches total for our biggest three striper on Lake Texoma topwater this morning‼️

🎣 The striper bite on Lake Texoma for us on Friday was a bit spotty on lures. We never really could find the quality of fish we were looking for.

So… we made a move! 👊🔥

We slid over to some mid depth structure and absolutely put a WHOOPING on some MAGNUM Sand Bass using slabs in 21 feet of water to fill the table! 🐟🐟🐟

When Plan A doesn’t cooperate, you adjust and make it happen! That’s fishing on Texoma! 😎
