Excited to welcome The Huddle Sports Bar to the City of Waukee!

A new local spot built for sports fans, families and game days, and located just down the road from Waukee High School, where the Roots will play three of our five home matches this fall.

Roots matchdays bring a full afternoon of soccer to Waukee with a USSL match, a FREE Rising Roots Initiative youth soccer clinic, and our United Premier Soccer League Premier match to close out the day. Every Roots home match is FREE and open to the public.

🌱⚽ FREE YOUTH SOCCER CLINICS ARE BACK THIS FALL!

This fall, Rising Roots Initiative is giving kids ages 5–12 the opportunity to get on the field, play, learn, and experience a Capital City Roots FC matchday firsthand.

And the best part? Every clinic is completely FREE.

🗓️ Every clinic is on Sunday
⚽ Clinic: 3:30–4:15 PM
👧🧒 Ages: 5–12
💰 Cost: FREE
🏟️ Roots FC UPSL Premier kickoff: 5:00 PM

FALL 2026 CLINIC DATES

📍 Sept. 13 | Trailridge School

📍 Oct. 25 | Waukee High School
📍 Nov. 8 | Waukee High School
📍 Nov. 15 | Waukee High School

Kids will have the chance to play on the same field the Roots will step onto later that afternoon. When the clinic wraps up, families can head into the stands, watch the UPSL Premier team warm up, and stay for the 5:00 PM kickoff.

No fees. No barriers. Just an opportunity to play.

🚨 DES MOINES, WE’RE RAISING THE BAR AGAIN.

Something new is coming to Iowa soccer this fall.

Capital City Roots FC is officially a co-founding club of the new USSL Iowa Conference, and with it comes the next expansion of the Roots development pathway.

This isn’t about adding games just to add games.

It’s about creating more opportunities to compete, develop, earn minutes, and prove you belong at the next level.

We’ve already seen what this model can do.

Players competing with Roots in the UPSL have earned opportunities at the USL League Two level.

Now we’re building another Roots environment with the same expectation:

COMPETE. DEVELOP. MOVE UP.

📈 More meaningful minutes and opportunities
