Friday Nights at The Station: Detroit Month of Design Takeover✨
Last week design showed up at Michigan Central with installations, live performance, fashion, art & community all under one roof. Cars at The Station sprawled across the lawn, RICK WILLIAMS + friends brought Metal Feet to the main stage, CULTURED MAGAZINE lead a City of Design Talk in the study & the festival’s design showcase captivated crowds.

Big thanks to everyone who came through & to all of the designers, artists & partners who brought the night to life.

Wednesday, Sept 23 ➡️ City of Design talk with our UNESCO City of Design guests from Designregio Kortrijk on the future of the textile industry.

Hear from Stijn Debaillie & Daphne Renier as they dive into the Tex Design project, a unique collaboration between major industry players & emerging designers.
The talk will be held onsite at LOLO’S HOUSE amidst the Spell Blanket exhibition, which travelled all the way to Detroit from Kortrik, Belgium, a UNESCO City of Design.

We’ve got the annual Black Women in Architecture brunch + panel, an intersectional forum on Adaptive Reuse, Art + Cars at Hudson’s Detroit, community-focused events in Corktown & 10+ exhibitions on view around the city. It’s also the last day to see wild.form at FLOYD HQ & Fashion through the Lens of Fiber with CONTAINER at the Love Building.

Slow Roll Detroit Thursday Nights ended their signature Eastern Market After Dark ride under Shed 2, lighting up the footprint & talking Detroit bikes.

Thanks to the Gilbert Family Foundation for supporting the inclusion of a range of cultural orgs, non-profits & artists’ participation at in sheds 2+5. The evening provides an opportunity to showcase their specialties, raise funds & expand their reach.
