This week, let's bust some of the most common myths about nutrition -

🔶 Myth #1: Sports drinks are the best way to replenish sweat loss after a workout.

Most people can meet hydration needs through water alone—even after a tough Orange 60. Start with an extra 2-3 cups of water then see how you feel.

🔶 Myth #2: You should always refuel with a protein shake after a workout.

Consuming protein after working out does have benefits, but it does not have to be a protein shake. Smelling, chewing, and tasting food all contribute to how satisfied & full you feel. Whenever possible, reach for a post workout snack that can be chewed.

🔶 Myth #3: You need to cut out all fat and sugar to lose fat.

Healthier eating does not mean cutting out entire food groups.
Instead, practice moderating the intake of these calorically dense, less nutrient-rich foods.

How do I maintain muscle mass while pursuing my weight and fat loss goals?🤔

➡️ PROTEIN INTAKE: For maintaining muscle mass combined with exercise, increase your overall daily protein intake! Seek out higher protein sources after exercise.

➡️ RESISTANCE TRAINING: Try starting class on the floor section with an increased focus on mind-muscle connection & pushing yourself.

Next time you're in the Studio, ask a coach about great pre/post workout snacks!

Feeling sluggish during your weekdays? This week we're focusing on getting more movement in even after you leave the studio!

Try these tips to get yourself moving more:

✅ Book That Extra Class: If you are consistently meeting your minimum goal for the challenge and wanting something more, try adding one additional class per week.

✅ Set a Daily Step Goal: If you spend most of your day sedentary outside the Studio, try setting a daily step goal to encourage more movement throughout your day.

✅ Incorporate Activity Breaks: Set a timer once every hour to remind you to get up and move.

Always take time to ask a coach if you have any questions, and drop the ways you get a little more out of your days below👇

Here are 3 tips to ensure you are properly hydrated:

👉AMOUNT: Hydrating before, during, and after your OTF classes is so important!

👉 TYPE: You don’t have to sip plain water all day. Unsweetened drinks like sparkling water, seltzer, and club soda are all great options.

👉 ALCOHOL & HYDRATION: For best results, limit alcohol consumption and opt for water.
