Catching up on the end of the season photos with a speed run post...
July and August were the busiest months of our season. On July 19th, we went to Lansing to take part in their tournament, where we faced the host club and the Wahoo Base Ball Club of Royal Oak. It was a fun day of baseball, with great plays made on both sides of the ball. At the end, we didn't find ourselves in the championship game, ending the day with a record of 0-1-1. The tournament was very well done by Lansing and we hope to be back again in the future.
On July 27th, we had our final home game of the season and our first match ever against the Welcome Campbell No. 27 base ball club. We welcomed them to our field in Ann Arbor at Northside Park for a fun game of bound rule base ball. This was the first season for the group from the Welcome Campbell, but they played like seasoned vets. It was a back and forth game on a hot day in Ann Arbor. The large group of neighbors that came out to watch got to see the visiting club get the victory and walk away with the game ball. We are sure we will see plenty more of this group in the future!
On August 10, we made the trip to Hamtramck to play at Historic Hamtramck Stadium, a game that we had been looking forward to for some time. It was turned into a 3 club round robin game, also including the Canal Fulton Mules. This was probably the best game that your union men played all year and after the 3 hour time limit was called, we walked away with the victory. It was such an honor to play on a field with true historic significance.
We ended our 2025 season with a trip to Greenfield Village on August 23rd. This is always a favorite game of ours every year getting to play in front of so many spectators. It was probably one of the nicer days we had all year. As expected, the lah-de-dahs played high level defense while crushing the ball all around the field. While the union men were able to make some good plays on defense, we just couldn't keep up with the host club. We were only able to muster one run, but it was a fun end to our season.

We still have some photos from our matches to catch up on posting, but we wanted to share a photo from our yearly team photo session. We always take our photos around town and this year decided to use the historic setting of the Dexter Cider Mill. It has been around long enough that members of our 1865 club could have enjoyed cider here! Our season has concluded, but we are already preparing to celebrate our 15th season next summer! Thank you to everyone for your continued support!

On Saturday, we welcomed the Monitor Base Ball Club of Chelsea to Northside Park in Ann Arbor. Shortly after getting the field setup and ready for a day of base ball, we realized that the sky was dark and we were going to be getting some rain. So we hid under tents while a strong but quick rain swept through Ann Arbor. After the rain finished up we resumed getting ready for the match. It ended up being a great day for base ball with a good turn out from the neighborhood to support these two clubs. Most of the offense for both clubs occurred in the first inning. The Monitors led 7-2 after the first inning. Starting with the second inning, defense took over the game. With great plays plays made in the field by both clubs, the final tally after nine full innings was 9-5, with Chelsea securing the victory. Thank you to the Monitor Base Ball Club of Chelsea, MI and Ann Arbor Parks MI for helping us showcase our game in Ann Arbor! For more photos, visit www.unionbbc.com/2025

We were happy to be invited to the Portage Vintage Base Ball Festival last weekend. We had the whole club travel west to take part in this great festival on Sunday. It was a hot day where we played parts of 3 games against new opponents. At the end of the day, we won a game, lost two, and had a good time. Thank you Chris Fusciardi for your hard work and for inviting us. For more photos of your Union men at this event, visit www.unionbbc.com

We started our season a couple weekends ago with a trip to Chelsea to see our friends on the Monitors. It was a beautiful day for base ball and a great day for knocking the winter rust off. This was a day that offense won, with a final score of 34-26, favoring the Monitors. For more pictures of the day, please visit www.unionbbc.com
