🎨 CALLING ALL LOCAL GRAPHIC ARTISTS & DESIGNERS!

We have a BIG year planned for Porter Park Events Plaza in 2027! From live concerts and music festivals to community gatherings and special events, we’re looking for a talented local artist to help create a distinctive visual identity for everything happening at the park.

We’re looking to commission a local artist to develop six original templates for each event style, approximately 18–24 templates total.

Our event categories include:

Park Concert Series
Levitt AMP Concert Series
Community Events
Special Events & Posters

🎸 Concerts should LOOK like concerts! Bold, exciting, energetic designs that capture the feeling of live music.

🎨 Community events should have their own personality, while still sharing a recognizable visual connection with our concert series.

We are NOT looking for AI-generated artwork, generic Canva templates, or designs that look like everything else on social media.

We want originality, imagination, and an artist’s personal style. Something uniquely Dothan. Something people recognize immediately.

Fictional event details are welcome. We want to see your creativity, typography, layout, and artistic direction.

Project Details:

Six original templates per event style
Approximately 18–24 templates total
Final designs delivered by December 1, 2026

Submitted designs will be used for artist selection only and will not be used commercially without permission or compensation.

We believe in supporting local talent, and we want our creative community to help shape the look and feel of Porter Park in 2027. Please note, this is not a huge job. We are looking to purchase the templates in PSD format and make the changes internally. Our department runs fast and there are times when we have to make changes on the fly. We will do all of those in house.

We’re not looking for ordinary. We’re looking for something unforgettable.

🚨 IMPORTANT TICKET WARNING! PLEASE READ & SHARE! 🚨

We hate that we even have to make this post, but we want to protect our community and everyone purchasing tickets to events at the Dothan Civic Center.

The SEVEN screenshots attached to this post are NOT official Dothan Civic Center Facebook events for the upcoming Matt Mathews show!

Some of these events already have more than 100 people showing interest, which can make them appear legitimate. Unfortunately, that is not always the case.

Some of these pages may direct you to third-party ticket resellers charging WAY more than the original ticket price. Others could potentially be outright scams, where you pay for tickets you never receive or receive tickets that aren’t valid.

HERE ARE TWO VERY IMPORTANT THINGS TO LOOK FOR BEFORE PURCHASING TICKETS:

✅ 1. LOOK AT “EVENT BY”

Our official Facebook events will say “Event by Dothan Civic Center.”

If you see another name listed as the event organizer, like the ones circled in these screenshots, that is NOT an official event created by us.

✅ 2. LOOK AT THE TICKET WEBSITE

Our official ticketing platform is TIXR.COM.

If the ticket link directs you to a different website, you are NOT purchasing through our official ticketing platform.

⚠️ PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS PART!

We are NOT affiliated with any of the third-party ticket websites shown in these screenshots.

If you purchase tickets through one of these websites and are scammed, never receive your tickets, or arrive at the Dothan Civic Center with tickets that turn out to be fake or invalid, there is nothing we can do to replace or honor those tickets.

This is especially important for SOLD-OUT SHOWS like Matt Mathews. If you arrive with an invalid ticket, there will not be additional seats available for you to purchase at the door.

And the last thing we EVER want is for someone to spend their hard-earned money, look forward to a great night, and then be turned away because they were misled.

❤️ Our goal is simple: We want every person who attends an event at the Dothan Civic Center to have a fun, memorable, and SAFE experience. That starts the moment you purchase your tickets.

It’s unfortunate that this is something we have to worry about, but we will continue doing everything we can to educate our community and help protect our guests.

If you are EVER unsure whether an event or ticket link is legitimate, PLEASE message our official Dothan Civic Center page BEFORE making a purchase. We would much rather answer a question ahead of time than see someone lose their money.

We have an exciting lineup of FREE community events coming to Porter Park in 2027! From live music and entertainment to activities for all ages, we're working to bring our community together throughout the year.

These events are made possible by the City of Dothan, community-minded sponsors, and grants. While we have marketing plans in place, we're looking for new ways to spread the word, and we'd love for local businesses to help!

Does your business have:

High foot traffic and TV screens that display rotating advertisements?

A large number of employees who receive a monthly company newsletter?

An internal email system, employee bulletin board, or digital display where community events could be shared?

Would you be willing to help us promote our FREE monthly community events?

We are looking for businesses willing to share information about events that are free and open to our community.

The more people we reach, the more families, friends, and neighbors we can bring together.
