🏁🔥 MASON WAS GONE.

You know it’s a good heat race when you can barely see the competition behind you. 👀

Heat Race #2 at Mill-Rite Raceway on Saturday, August 22nd was exactly that.

Mason Oehm put the hammer down and dominated the 206 Junior field, opening up a HUGE lead and putting some serious distance between himself and the competition.

Lap after lap, Mason kept clicking off fast, consistent laps while the rest of the field disappeared farther and farther into the distance.

This is what speed looks like. 🏁

The work.
The preparation.
The seat time.
The focus.
The family behind it all.

🏁 SECOND BY A NOSE. 😳

This one came down to the very last inches.

Mason and one of his longtime rivals spent the Feature battling for position at Mill-Rite Raceway with Badger Kart Club on August 22nd — and by the time they reached the finish, it was a fight all the way to the wire.

Mason crossed the line 2nd by a nose. 🥈

So close.

And the lesson from this one?

Start fighting a little sooner. 👊

When you're racing someone you've battled against for years, you don't get many chances to make up ground. Mason had the speed. He just needed to start that fight a little earlier.

CHAOS IN TURN ONE! 💥🏁

The first heat of Sunday’s Badger Kart Club 206 Junior race went sideways FAST.

With 20+ karts charging into Turn 1, the field broke apart like balls on a pool table. Mason got caught in the chaos—but somehow kept it together with a controlled slide… followed by a little lawn mower action. 🌱😂

He kept the kart pointed in the right direction, got back on track, and kept fighting.

That’s racing. You don’t need a perfect heat—you need to survive, adapt, and keep pushing. But mostly survive!

🔥 Watch the chaos unfold and tell us: Did Mason save it, or did the grass save Mason? 😂 More videos from this weekend coming soon!

Hope all our friends that participated in Route at Road America are doing well this weekend. No racing for us so we got out in nature for a bit before getting some chores done at home and of course preparing for racing next weekend which is a doubleheader camping weekend! We hope to see our friends and family join us there!

When it’s raining and you’re on a rain delay with little chance of going out today. Sad kids. Ava got to go out for practice at least. Mason ran in the 8 hour Enduro yesterday. Had a blast, probably could have won but due to mechanical issues they finished 5th. Mason had the fast time at full weight, and several of his team mates came close as well. It was a great competitive race, congrats to the winners that made podium!

🏁 What a weekend. We got beat up... but we got a whole lot faster.

Our first Route 66 Series weekend at Mill-Rite Raceway was one we'll never forget.

🎥 Feature Race: https://youtu.be/DAaft-9dipA

Heat 2 didn't exactly go according to plan. After a rough start, Mason was rammed, spun, and T-boned by another driver with no penalty called. It would have been easy to let frustration take over, but instead he put his head down and started hunting. One by one, he worked his way back through the field and showed the determination that makes us so proud to be part of this sport.

Then came the Feature...

If Heat 2 was exciting, the Feature was an absolute Wild West Smash and Bash race!

There were battles everywhere, constant passing, plenty of rubbing, and enough contact to keep us on our toes. At one point another kart rubbed so hard against Mason's sidepod that it literally burned the graphics off the side of the kart—we had smoke coming off the bodywork! 😅 Thankfully, there was no major damage, and Mason just kept charging.

The race ended with an incredible three-wide drag race to the checkered flag, and despite all the chaos Mason brought it home 7th in a stacked field while running laps just 2/10ths of a second off the fastest time of the race.

Even better, we made huge strides figuring out the MG Red tires throughout the weekend. Every lap taught us something, and we left faster, smarter, and even more excited for the next Route 66 race.

A huge THANK YOU to Powell Construction, Inc. for making weekends like this possible. Your support allows Mason to compete against some of the best racers in the Midwest, and we're incredibly grateful to have you on this journey with us.

And a very special shout-out to Lawson Speed Shop for building us an outstanding Briggs LO206 engine and helping us keep it running at top speed! The speed was definitely there, and we can't wait to keep building on what we learned!

Thanks to all of our family, friends, fellow racers, officials, and everyone who stopped by the trailer to cheer Mason on.

Now we want to hear from you...

He Qualified 16th... Then Started Hunting Down the Leaders!
🎥 Watch here: https://youtu.be/fmqoT0xnGGE

Our first-ever Route 66 regional series heat race is in the books, and what a learning experience it was!

Coming into the weekend, Mason looked incredibly fast on our older practice set of MG Red tires. We honestly felt like a Top 5 qualifying run was within reach. But once we bolted on a brand-new set for qualifying, everything changed. The extra grip and completely different feel threw Mason for a loop, and he ended up qualifying 16th in a very talented field.

Instead of getting discouraged, Mason went to work.

In Heat Race #1, he started figuring out the new tires, making clean passes and steadily closing on the leaders. By the checkered flag, he had worked his way up to 11th, and we left the track feeling optimistic that he was beginning to unlock the speed that we knew was there.

One of the biggest lessons in racing is learning to adapt, and this weekend was a great reminder that every lap is an opportunity to improve. We're excited to see what Mason can do in Heat #2 and the Feature as he gets more comfortable on the Reds!

A huge thank you to our sponsor:
🏁 Powell Construction for believing in Mason and helping make opportunities like this possible.

Special Shout Out!
🏁 Lawson Speed Shop for providing an incredible Briggs 206 engine and helping us keep it running like a dream all season. Having reliable power lets Mason focus on learning and racing with confidence.

We also want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone at the track. As many of you know, Ron suffered a serious fall at work a couple of weeks ago and has been recovering from a concussion and a brain bleed. While he's improving, lifting karts and equipment is still a challenge. So many racers, families, and officials stepped in to help carry karts, offered us closer parking, and lent a hand whenever we needed it. Those acts of kindness meant more than you know, and they reminded us what a special racing community we're blessed to be part of.

Thank you all for the support, encouragement, and prayers. We couldn't do this without our racing family.

If you enjoy following Mason's journey, we'd love it if you'd watch the video, leave a comment, and share it with your fellow racing fans. Every like, comment, and share helps us continue growing the channel and sharing this adventure.
