🏁🎃 70 LAPS. TWO DRIVERS. ONE SLIPPERY CONE.

Mason and Lucas came to the Backwards Halloween Relay Race ready to FIGHT for the finish! 💪🏎️

Despite a weight disadvantage, BOTH drivers were gaining on the leaders and putting together an incredible run toward what would have been 2ND PLACE! 🔥

Then the cold pavement and slippery tires had other plans. Mason slid into a cone, and the team was disqualified.

Was it the finish they wanted? Absolutely not.

Did they give it everything they had? YOU BET THEY DID! 👊

That's racing. You can drive your heart out, make up ground, and be right where you want to be — then one mistake changes everything.

But here's what matters: these guys kept pushing, raced hard, supported each other, and STILL had fun doing it. That's what grassroots racing is all about. ❤️🏁

🐶🏁🎃 WHO LET THE DOG ON THE RACETRACK?! 🎃🏁🐶

Halloween at Badger Kart Club got a little WILD! 👀

We had backwards racing, ridiculous dog ears, flying asphalt, and plenty of action. Mason brought the speed, the Hot Lap Hound showed up ready to race, and Ava got in on the action too! 🏎️💨

🏁 Final race of the season. Championship on the line. 🏁

Mason came into the last points race of the Badger Kart Club 206 Junior season sitting in 3rd. Tire trouble midseason cost us speed, and a couple of penalties hurt the points, but he still had a shot: beat the top two karts and take the title back.

The top four karts were racing hard and the tension was high. Mason kept it clean, even while getting hit, and we’ll let you judge the penalty for yourself. 👀

In the end, one driver went home happy and one didn’t. What made us proudest was seeing Mason remember good sportsmanship even when the result didn’t go his way. 💪

Next year he moves up to Senior Medium, and that’s going to be a whole new ball game! 🔥

🏁 HEAT RACES FROM 9/20/26 ARE LIVE! 🏁

Racing was canceled this week, so we are posting last weeks heat races!

Two heats. One goal: find the speed and fight for every position.

Mason Oehm Racing is back on the asphalt, and these heats brought plenty of close racing, pressure, and battles for every tenth.

Mason took on a highly competitive field in the feature and put together a hard-fought, clean race. Most notably battling against the #3 kart in a dance of patience. Lap after lap, he stayed in the fight, found speed, and started gaining ground on the field.

He brought it home 5th, but the finishing position doesn't tell the whole story.

The gap was coming down. The pace was there. And the fight isn't over.

So we march on.

This is what a championship season looks like: long days, close battles, mistakes, lessons, setbacks, and getting back in the kart to do it all again.

No shortcuts. No excuses. Just family, racing, and the fight to get better every time we hit the track.

“Have you ever driven a stick shift car?”

Mason: Nope.

“But you know how a motorcycle works?”

Mason: Nope.

Ron: “He’s never driven anything manual before.”

Team: ……… 😳

And then Mason went out and drove a Rotax and a Shifter for the first time ever.

No previous experience. No manual transmission background. No idea what to expect.

Just a kart, a track, and a whole lot of curiosity.

And somehow… he looked like he’d been doing it forever. 😂🔥

After his sessions, we got some pretty awesome feedback:

“You are a damn good wheel man!”

And:

“For never driving one of these karts, he’s really smooth and confident out there!”

We couldn't have asked for a better day.

After a few tough races lately, Mason needed a little reminder of why he loves this sport. This day definitely delivered. It gave him a much-needed boost in confidence, challenged him with something completely new, and, most importantly, reignited that fire.

And man… watching him jump into something he'd never driven before and absolutely send it was a whole lot of fun. 😂

A huge THANK YOU to Milrock, Factory Karts, and FZ Shifter for giving Mason the opportunity to experience something completely outside his comfort zone. We genuinely appreciated the hospitality, the time, the feedback, and the chance to learn.

We'll definitely be coming around when it's time to start looking at new karts. 👀🏁

Sometimes you just need to try something you've never done to remember what you're capable of.

🏁 Sometimes you have to stop racing to win… and start racing for the fun of it.

Today Mason stepped way outside his comfort zone.

He raced Senior Medium at Norway for the first time in years. He hasn't raced this track since he was in Sportsman, so it was basically a new track all over again. Add the extra weight that comes with moving up a class, and we knew he’d be starting from the back.

And honestly?

That was exactly where we wanted him.

The last several weeks had started to feel a little too serious. Lap times. Results. Competition. Pressure.

Somewhere along the way, we were losing sight of the reason we started doing this in the first place.

The fun.

So today wasn't about winning.
It was about getting uncomfortable.
Trying something new.
Learning. Racing. Laughing.
And remembering what it feels like to simply love driving a kart.
Sometimes you're fighting for the corner.
Sometimes you're fighting for the line.
And sometimes you're just racing for last, racing for first, just to feel that fire again.

That's what today was about.

Getting back to the basics.
Getting back to the joy.
Getting back to why we race. ❤️🏁

Our 360 camera mount broke halfway through the race so please excuse that. Most of what you should focus on happened in the first half of the race anyway.
