🇯🇵 Mini NPB Tour Days 1-2 ⚾️
Our annual Mini NPB Tour is underway in Osaka!
We started on Tuesday night with a visit to Kyocera Dome for the Saitama Seibu Lions and Orix Buffaloes. Unfortunately for the home team, NPB ERA leader Kaima Taira was in cruise control, shutting down the Buffaloes for 8 innings en route to a 2-0 victory. 🦁🐃
The next morning, we planned to explore Dotonbori together, but heavy rains had other plans. Luckily, we were still able to make it to Namba Parks to see some hidden baseball history connected to the old Nankai Hawks. We visited the site of former Osaka Stadium and the National Gallery of Nankai Hawks, remembering the club’s Osaka roots before its move to Fukuoka. 🌧️
From there, we made the short trip to Kobe, where the group enjoyed a hosted Kobe beef welcome lunch before heading to Hotto Motto Field Kobe for another Lions-Buffaloes matchup — this time at one of Japan’s most scenic and underrated ballparks. Seibu proved too strong for Orix again with another shutout victory, this time by an 8-0 scoreline.
Next stop: Fukuoka 🚆

Happy International Literacy Day! 📚🇯🇵
One of our favorite things to see is how the experiences from our Japan tours continue long after the trip is over.
After joining one of our tours with his family, the son of one of our guests brought a little bit of Japan back to the classroom, putting together a school project all about Japan and Nippon Professional Baseball! ⚾️

⚾️ Our 3rd annual Oakland Ballers meetup was a major success!
We had another great turnout, bringing together members of the Lefty O’Doul Bay Area SABR chapter, JapanBallers, and the Extra Innings Travel community for a night of baseball in Oakland 🙌
A highlight of the evening was heading into the dugout after the game and meeting former San Francisco Giants executive and current Ballers President Yeshayah Goldfarb.
Big thanks to SK — our Korea tour guide and a member of the Ballers staff — for helping facilitate the meetup, and to Steve Murphy of SABR for helping bring everyone together!
Already looking forward to year four! ⚾️

Good times at the San Jose Giants game last night!
Pregame tailgate and post game fireworks on Harry Potter night and of course, the best churros in the world! It was cool seeing the Giants two dynamic young super prospects, Luis Hernandez and Josuar Gonzales.
