It's official. On Monday, Fairbanks signed the host agreement for the 2028 Arctic Winter Games. This will be our fourth time welcoming the Games, after 1982, 1988, and 2014, and around 2,000 athletes from across the circumpolar North will gather here in March 2028.

Here's the part worth knowing: pulling this off takes a couple thousand volunteers, and as of this week the Host Society has about 50 signed up. They are just getting started, and Fairbanks has a long habit of showing up. If you've ever wanted to be part of something like this, watch for the Fairbanks 2028 Host Society's volunteer call. 🙌

We'll be cheering, volunteering, and welcoming visitors right along with the rest of town. ❄️

Congratulations, Fairbanks! 🎉 The 2028 Arctic Winter Games are coming back to the Interior. Our town welcomed the Games in 1982, 1988, and 2014, and it is wonderful to see them return, with athletes from across the circumpolar north gathering right here. We could not be prouder of this community. Whatever worlds you like to explore, indoors or out, Arctic Sun VR is glad to be a small part of a town that shows up like this. ❄️
