🚧 Our Wellness Center Expansion is officially underway! 🚧

You may have noticed some big changes in our lobby and the temporary location of our Welcome Center desk recently. As construction begins on the second-floor addition, temporary walls have been installed and our lobby area has shifted to accommodate important safety needs throughout the project.

While things may look a little different when you visit, these changes are an exciting sign of the progress happening at the Y!

We’re sharing a first look at the construction and the beginning stages of the expansion. There’s a lot more to come, and we look forward to bringing you along as the project takes shape!

Construction Update | Welcome Center Changes Begin Tonight

Our Wellness Center expansion is moving into its next exciting phase!

Beginning this evening, temporary construction walls are being constructed in the Welcome Center and lobby as we prepare to connect our existing facility to the new Wellness Center addition that is going to be built. As a result, member check-in, lobby seating, and traffic flow will be temporarily adjusted.

After 16 years of dedicated service at the Fond du Lac Family YMCA, we are celebrating the retirement of someone who has quietly made a lasting impact on our Y family.

Since joining our team in 2010, Val has worked behind the scenes as part of our custodial staff, helping ensure our facility is clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors. Her hard work, reliability, and care have made a difference in the experiences of thousands of members, guests, and staff over the years.

Val, thank you for your years of commitment and for everything you've done to help make our Y a better place. We are grateful for your service and wish you nothing but happiness, good health, and new adventures in this next chapter.

Summer is full of discovery at the Y!

Our Summer Preschool classes have been soaking up everything summer has to offer, and our recent bug-themed adventures have been a favorite! From exploring creepy crawlies to hands-on activities, our little learners have been building curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning while making unforgettable summer memories.

🚧 NEW CONSTRUCTION AREA IN PLACE TODAY 🚧

If you're visiting the Fond du Lac Family YMCA, you'll notice a new construction fence surrounding the northwest side of our building near the main entrance. This fenced construction zone includes a portion of our parking lot, sidewalk, and part of the Child Care playground as work continues on the next phase of our facility transformation.

As you arrive, please:
🚶 Use extra caution when walking to and from the building.
🚗 Watch for construction activity and temporary changes to parking near the entrance.

Please note:
🚲 Temporary bike racks will be installed soon and will be available for member use.

What's happening?

This exterior construction supports the expansion and redesign of our Wellness Center, creating a larger, more functional fitness space that will:
--Expand strength training and functional fitness areas
--Improve traffic flow throughout the Wellness Center
--Add a long-awaited indoor walking track, providing a safe, accessible place for year-round walking and wellness

We know each new phase brings temporary adjustments, and we're committed to keeping you informed as construction progresses. We look forward to sharing the exciting milestones ahead as we continue transforming the Y for our members and community.

Our facility transformation is moving into the next phase, bringing us one step closer to an expanded Wellness Center and a brand-new indoor walking track!

Over the next couple of weeks, members and guests will notice:
--Construction walls inside the Wellness Center
--Temporary equipment closures in the taped-off construction area
--Wellness Center access changes
--The start of our Wellness Center Expansion on the north side of the building, including parking, sidewalk, and traffic pattern changes near the front entrance

The Wellness Center will remain open throughout construction, but we ask members to follow posted signage, stay out of construction areas and certain access areas that may be closed, and use caution around active construction.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we continue making these exciting improvements for our members and community!
