šš„ Back to school, Georgetown. Time to get after it.
A new school year is officially underway for our Georgetown Lacrosse players from 1st grade through high school.
The expectations are pretty simple: work hard, be accountable, respect your teachers and teammates, and take pride in everything you do.
Lacrosse is a team sport. It demands discipline, effort, and resilience - and those lessons donāt stop when players leave the field.
To all of our families jumping back into early mornings, practices, homework and packed schedules: here we go!!
Have a strong year, Georgetown. Weāll see you on the field. š„

Georgetown has something no other city in Texas can offer young lacrosse players: a path that starts right here at home and can continue all the way to the NCAA level.
From youth lacrosse to middle school, high school and Southwestern University, players in Georgetown can grow up surrounded by the game - watching it, learning it and seeing what the next level looks like in their own community.
And the numbers are worth paying attention to. While only about 1 in 14 high school athletes across all sports go on to compete at the collegiate level, lacrosse is closer to 1 in 7.

We broke it down into 5 signs ā swipe through and see how many hit.
1ļøā£ You want to hit someone.
We get it. Lacrosse has full contact, physical play, and legal checks, all within a sport thatās actually one of the safest out there when properly coached and geared up.
2ļøā£ You play another sport and want an edge.
Lacrosse builds hand-eye coordination, footwork, and field vision in ways that directly transfer back to football, basketball, soccer you name it. The best multi-sport athletes we see use lacrosse as their secret weapon.
3ļøā£ You hate just standing around.
Thereās no outfield in lacrosse. No bench-warming. Every player is in the action, all game long and the pace makes it one of the most exciting sports to watch AND play.
4ļøā£ Youāve got a signature celebration.
Lacrosse culture celebrates personality. Goals get celebrated. Big plays get hyped. If youāve got a celly ready, youāre going to fit right in on this sideline.
5ļøā£ You want to actually enjoy practice.
Not every sport earns that. We coach GLC to be competitive AND fun because if kids donāt love showing up, nothing else matters.
