I react to real cases because prevention starts with knowing what you’re up against.
This one: an adult woman targeted mid-jog, a suspect who tried to force an assault. It’s the kind of case that changes how you think about what you carry. It makes you think that maybe if you did carry something it would be a deterrent.
That’s why I keep talking about the Safely Sidekick SOS Device.
In nearly 30 years working these cases, the tools that actually help are the ones you can use in a second — not the ones buried in a bag.
What it puts in your hand:
🔹 Pointed metal tip for self-defense
🔹 Pepper spray
🔹 Brass knuckles (check your state’s laws first)
🔹 Flashlight
🔹 Personal alarm
🔹 NEW: Invisawear collab — one click sends your location and an emergency alert straight to your contacts!
You don’t plan for the worst day. You prepare for it.

A Chance For Awareness
A Chance for Awareness is an organization founded to share awareness about Human Trafficking.

🚨 Big announcement:
Frontline Activation is here.
And it feels fitting that we’re bringing it to you on a day the sky itself is putting on a rare show — a total solar eclipse crossing the globe today. Rare alignments feel like the right backdrop for something we’ve been building for a long time.
For years, awareness has been the starting point.
Now we’re closing the gap between information and implementation.
I’ve teamed up with survivor and author Sandy Storm to build something that didn’t exist before — training built from both sides of the investigation.
My 27+ years undercover investigating trafficking, combined with Sandy’s lived experience and years in the counter-trafficking field, gives law enforcement agencies the real insight they need to build task forces, run undercover operations, and actually move on this crime instead of just talking about it.
🎥 Watch our introduction video to hear the full story of why we built this!

💬 Comment below if you know a law enforcement agency that needs this kind of training
🔁 Share this post with that agency — you could be the reason they get the tools they need
This work only moves forward when the right people see it.
Tag them. Send it. Let’s activate the frontline together.
One of the biggest reasons traffickers get away with their crimes is because so many people still don't understand how they control their victims. 💔
It's rarely chains or locked doors.
More often, it's manipulation, fear, emotional abuse, threats, trauma bonds, financial control, and convincing victims they have nowhere else to go. 🎭📱💰
When our communities understand these tactics, they're less likely to ask, "Why didn't they just leave?" and more likely to recognize victims for what they truly are: people being exploited.
Community awareness doesn't just change conversations. It changes investigations, juries, and ultimately, convictions. 👏⚖️
❤️ The more we understand how traffickers operate, the harder it becomes for them to hide in plain sight.

Do you know what some Emoji's mean when used in the context of gaming or private messaging?
Would you be able to decode these Emoji's and learn the true nature of the conversation at a glance?
If you can't answer "Yes" to these questions, you need my latest resource for parents, guardians, and caregivers- my Decoding Emoji Resource.
You will find it linked in my profile or I can send it to you if you comment the word "Resource".
Undercover work is unlike any other assignment in law enforcement.
It demands long hours, emotional resilience, and the ability to step into some of the darkest parts of humanity—all while carrying the weight of what you've seen long after the operation ends.
When I first started, there were very few female undercover officers doing this work.
Today, I'm proud to see so many incredible women stepping into these roles. Their courage, professionalism, and commitment are helping build stronger cases, rescue more victims, and hold more traffickers accountable than ever before.
To every female undercover out there: thank you. Your work isn't easy, and it often goes unseen, but it is making a difference every single day.

Ever heard a teenager casually say they’re “in the life”? It’s worth pausing on !!
“The Life” or “the Game” is the catch-all term for the entire trafficking subculture, its rules, its economy, its own internal logic. It’s language that shows up in music and social media long before most kids understand what it actually means.
Hearing this phrase from your child isn’t a reason to panic, it’s an opening. A calm, curious conversation goes a lot further than a lecture.❤️

How do we make a real difference in the fight against human trafficking?
It starts with reducing the demand. If no one was willing to buy another human being, traffickers would lose their business.
It continues by creating a world where victims feel safe enough to come forward. That means believing them, understanding the manipulation they endured, and holding traffickers accountable, not the people they exploited.
It also means educating our children, our communities, and our law enforcement so we can recognize the warning signs before it's too late.
Real change doesn't happen with awareness alone. It happens when we all choose to take action.

"She could just leave him." 🙄Here's why that's rarely true ‚ and why leaving can be the most dangerous moment of all.
"Choosing up" is when a victim moves from one trafficker to another ‚ sometimes without permission. Inside this hierarchy, that's not a breakup. It's treated as a violation, and it's punished.
This is why safety planning matters so much more than a single decision to walk away.
Leaving isn't a moment ‚ it's a process, and it has to be done safely. ‼️
