Feet in loops!
I’m going to take you thru a flow I would work on in my own body.
Slow, controlled and listening to the body.
Please do not attempt inversion if you have an injury to the spine that may be contraindicated or high blood pressure or glaucoma.
Also you may still need time to build your abdominal muscles before lifting the hips over head.
I’d recommend 1 red and 1 blue spring. I also like 2 reds.

I see videos often stating it’s a pilates workout when it isn’t.
Recently I saw a celebrity sharing a post saying it was a pilates workout when it didn’t have an ounce of pilates in it.
With the rise is pilates over the past few years (which is great) it brings a lot of people who want to jump on the train without learning how to operate it.
Sadly, I am even starting to see the large brands on the industry sharing posts that clearly haven’t been reviewed or are created by a none pilates person where the movements shown are not done safely or correctly. 😔
With anything out there, do your own research! We cannot reply on what is presented to us on socials, especially with the rise of AI.
Pilates principles should be evident in the training; breath, control, precision, flow, alignment and more.
The movements taught to you should be safe and thoughtful for YOUR body.
Your instructor should be watching you move and also correcting your form.
You shouldn’t feel pain or discomfort.
Pilates is meant to be for each individual body.
Let’s move onto semi circle after practicing the prep.
You want to feel supported but also able to move the carriage. This is a spine exercise so make sure you are all in the shoulders.
We are articulating thru the spine so please check with her instructor to ensure this is available and safe for your body.
Semi- circle prep!
Let’s warm up a little and then start moving into semi circle prep.
You want to move slowly and find your breath.
Feet are in pilates V or turned out with heels together.
Let’s get into the side of the body with mermaid, and then we’re gonna start to find rotation with thread the needle, and then finally end with some extension in the spine.
be sure to repeat this on the other side of the body.
Let’s stay on the chair with the spit pedals!
Press up so you feel you are hovering in the air and then start to move just the lower body. You will need to adjust your handles to the height that works for you.
Be sure you dump into the shoulders!
Give it a try!
I’m excited to get to play around with a split pedal chair!
Here we’re gonna be working with the lower body play around with your spring settings. It’s gonna be different for each body that’s in front of you.
either way, whether the springs are heavier or lighter it’s going to be a challenge to try to move both legs at the same time when the pedals are split.
Let’s stay on the tower with the roll down bar on and work on finding some extension.
i’m a big fan of the roll down bar as it gives your body a really great cue to stay in alignment and especially in your abdominal.
it’s easy to let the arms take over but we don’t want to let that happen.
We’re gonna find extension on the way down and then flexion on the way back up after a couple times will reverse that flow.
make sure you check with your Instructor that this is safe to do in your body and then go ahead and give it a try.
I am back!
Different equipment, same principles.
Working with the Stott reformer / tower is a change from teaching on Balanced Body equipment.
The biggest difference I noticed right away is the springs. They definitely feel heavier on Stott.
I’m excited to be back to moving my body and also teaching others.
Be sure to follow for more tower flows, split pedal chair and more!
