The 2nd seated pose in the Hot 26&2 sequence is Half Tortoise, a spine traction pose that also stretches and strengthens the arms, shoulders, back, and hips. Press palms together, squeeze arms toward each other and stretch arms forward against hips stretching back to heels. Pull belly in, squeeze knees together. Traction the spine throughout the pose to rehydrate disks and improve circulation. Having trouble coming down with arms next to head, your spine straight, and hips staying down? Walk your hands forward on the floor as you lower your upper body down. Walk hands back toward knees to come back up. Keep trying! Steady effort! Healing and strength take time. 🐢 This is a lifelong practice. Oris, you’re amazing! Thanks for demonstrating Half Tortoise for us! 🙏

Wednesdays at 4pm. Emily leads Hot Power Vinyasa. Why does it have a different name than our other Vinyasa classes? 🤔 The Power refers to “Journey into Power”, a specific order of sections when designing a sequence of poses for a class that was developed by Baptiste. The Hot 🔥 means the temp is a little higher than Warm Vinyasa. Please share your questions about this new class offering in the comments 👇 so we can respond and others can benefit from reading them! 💯☀️💯 Congratulations, Jenny! 100 classes is a milestone we ❤️ to celebrate at Yoga Sol! Jenny walked in the door for the 1st time almost exactly one year ago and 98% of the classes she’s taken have been the Hot 26&2. ABHYASA means committed practice, an ongoing effort with disciplined action. This describes Jenny’s practice to a tee! She has chosen to establish a steady and gracefully disciplined practice and we are fortunate to get to practice alongside her. Give her a 🙌 next time you see her!

✈️ The 3rd pose in the spine strengthening series of the Hot 26&2 sequence has you taking flight. Before Full Locust lift-off, stretch arms out and squeeze legs in. Press hips down, inhale to full and take off! Eyes up, chest up, arms up, legs up! Now breathe small sips in and out the nose with full lungs. Active arms stretch outward, shoulder blades separate and hands lift up, chest broad. Keep thigh muscles tight, legs straight. Squeeze the entire length of your legs together from upper inner thighs all the way down to inner ankles. Exhale and lift everything a little higher before a nice gentle landing 🛬. Strong, smoooth, and suave like Shaun 😉
