Zeb Lilly has spent over two and a half decades pushing into the dark, quiet corners of the earth, split between a career in emergency services and a lifelong obsession with cave exploration. As a cave diver and the Diving Coordinator for the National Cave Rescue Commission, he has a passion for where water and stone meet, specifically in the deep karst systems of Mexico.

Zeb’s presentation will take you inside some of the most remote and challenging underwater cave systems in the world, focusing on his work in the Huautla area of Oaxaca, Mexico. He will share insights from the massive efforts at the Huautla Resurgence and Cueva de la Peña Colorada, before diving deep into the multi-year exploration of the Río Uluapan in 2019 and 2024. He will also cover discoveries in 2024 at the Tilpan resurgence and offer a glimpse into his most recent project, pushing new, uncharted passages in Tamaulipas in 2025. Whether you are an open-water reef diver or a seasoned technical diving geek, Zeb’s look into the logistics, gear, and sheer grit required to explore these massive systems promises a fascinating view into true modern exploration.
