Your core does more than just flex your spine 🛑
A lot of people think “core training” begins and ends with crunches. But if you're only training one way, you’re missing out on half the benefits.
Here is why you need both stability and flexion in your routine:
🛡️ CORE STABILITY (Resisting Movement)The Job: Bracing to protect your spine and transfer power between your upper and lower body.
The Moves: Planks, Pallof presses, dead bugs, and heavy carries.
Why you need it: It shields your lower back from injury, improves your posture, and gives you the foundational strength to lift heavy safely.
💪 CORE FLEXION (Creating Movement)The Job: Shortening the anterior abdominal muscles under controlled tension.
The Moves: Crunches, hanging leg raises, and ab wheel rollouts.
Why you need it: It builds localized muscle strength, hypertrophy (hello, definition!), and teaches your trunk to produce power through a full range of motion.
The Bottom Line: If you only train stability, you miss out on localized muscle power. If you only train flexion, you miss the deep bracing power needed to protect your back.
Balance your routine to move better, lift heavier, and stay pain-free.💬
Which one do you tend to neglect more—stability or flexion?
