⚾️ Today is BLOODY BASEBALL SUNDAY…
Come sunset today, half the field of 6️⃣4️⃣ will be out. Their great season will be finally retired. Dreams will be made, & dreams will be shattered… on the same exact play. By nightfall & the full moon rising, even more teams will be eliminated. The started the day with all 1️⃣2️⃣ teams (the entire field of 6️⃣4️⃣ still having a chance) that made the still alive, sadly they are now down to 1️⃣1️⃣ teams. 1️⃣6️⃣ teams had their great season come to an abrupt end. It’s never easy when teams season and backs are against the wall.

6️⃣4️⃣ college baseball teams still alive as we start the day.
1️⃣2️⃣ teams from the SEC.
Roughly (& sadly… weather permitting), 1/4 of teams in the 2026 NCAA baseball tournament will go home today. Their great season & hot streak will come to an end. Some teams will have their biggest win in school history. There will be a picture, a still photograph, that will live on their home campus for many years to come. Players that play today will be able to bring back their kids and grandkids one day and show them that photo, that lives in a frame, a display case, a trophy room, or a giant wall mural for decade to come.
For others the dream ends. All will hope for the chance to keep playing baseball. Some will get that chance, others won’t. Off to grad school, or the real world. Join the rest of the working stiffs. The game will never leave them, it never leaves any of us. That’s why we watch.
