He was 18… had his LTC… and still wasn’t carrying
I had a young guy come through one of my Texas LTC classes — 18 years old, working as a server at Texas Roadhouse.
Good kid.
Did everything right on paper.
Passed the class.
Passed the shooting test (first try).
Got his license.
But when we talked after…
He told me straight up:
“I don’t know if I’m actually ready to carry.”
That’s more common than people think.
So we started working together.
First thing we did wasn’t shooting —
it was figuring out what actually made sense for his life.
He’s on his feet all day
Moving constantly
Working around people
Needed something comfortable and discreet
He ended up with a G***k 43, and we set him up with a pocket carry setup that worked with his job.
We also talked through the real concerns:
Carrying at work
Walking to his car at night
What’s legal vs what’s smart
No guesswork. No YouTube advice.
Second session, he’s carrying daily —
unloaded at first, just getting used to it.
We worked dry fire.
Built consistency.
Got him comfortable.
That’s the part nobody talks about.
You can take a class…
You can get your LTC…
And still not feel ready to carry.
That’s the gap I focus on now.
Not just helping you pass a class —
but helping you actually live with it day to day.
If you’re in Texas and you’ve been thinking about carrying…
or you already have your LTC but haven’t started…
Comment “READY” or message me.
I’ll point you in the right direction.

Can you legally shoot on your own property in Tarrant County?
These guys were shooting in this backyard of the mobile home with AR-15's. There is an RV Park nearby, but they were not shooting in the direction of the park.
A lot of people in Fort Worth, Kennedale, and Rendon assume the answer automatically a yes.
It’s not that simple.
Here’s what actually matters:
• Are you inside city limits?
• How many acres do you have?
• Is your property part of a subdivision?
• Is your shooting setup safe, berms, if that round leaves your property, that's a problem.
Inside city limits, it’s generally illegal.
Outside city limits, (unincorporated areas of the county) it may be allowed—but there are still restrictions, and safety always comes first.
Before you set up a target, make sure you understand the law and your specific situation. Even if it is LEGAL, in your area, if that bullet leaves your property, or creates a risk to structures, people or property, it can be reckless conduct, or worse
If you have questions about what’s legal where you live, feel free to reach out.

Flying with a firearm in Texas? Here’s what you NEED to know.
Most people are surprised to learn this…
Yes, you can legally fly with your pistol, (Not Carry On) — but if you do it wrong, you could end up arrested, fined, or worse.
As a retired law enforcement officer and Texas LTC instructor, I’ve seen how small mistakes at the airport can turn into big problems.
Here’s the correct way to fly with your handgun:
✔️ Gun AND all magazines must be unloaded
✔️ Stored in a hard-sided, locked case, with a TSA approved lock, you can buy most anyplace.
✔️ Declared at the airline check-in counter, they will inspect and have you fill out a red card, (declaration card)
✔️ Ammunition must be properly stored (in the original box, or a container designed to fit your caliber)
✔️ TSA rules AND airline policies BOTH apply
👉 You CANNOT carry it through TSA — even with a License to Carry. You can NOT bring it in carry on luggage.
Where most people go wrong:
Thinking their Texas LTC lets them bypass TSA rules
Improper storage (this is the biggest issue)
Not declaring the firearm correctly
This is why education matters.
If you're going to carry — especially across state lines — you need more than just the basics. Also pre-check your destination airport to ensure the allow fi****ms in your checked luggage, (some states do not)
That’s exactly why I offer:
✔️ Texas LTC Online Course (DPS-approved, self-paced)
✔️ One-on-one coaching for real-world carry situations
✔️ Step-by-step guidance so you feel comfortable, not just qualified
I don’t just teach — I coach you through real-life scenarios most instructors never cover.

There’s a reason a lot of people are skeptical about LTC classes.
Most are rushed, check-the-box, and don’t really prepare you for what carrying a firearm actually means in the real world.
I get it.
After 30 years in law enforcement, I’ve seen how quickly situations can escalate—and how important it is to make the right decision under pressure.
That’s why I built Texas LTC Training Academy differently.
Yes, you can take a DPS-approved online course (I’ve personally taken it and vetted it as a solid option).
But what most people are really looking for is guidance beyond that:
• When are you actually justified in using force?
• What would you do in a real-world encounter?
• How do you carry in a way that’s safe, responsible, and fits your daily life?
That’s where coaching comes in.
I work with people one-on-one and in small settings to help them not just get licensed—but feel comfortable carrying in the real world.
If you’ve been thinking about getting your Texas License to Carry, or you’re unsure where to start, feel free to reach out.
I’m also offering a free 15-minute consultation to help you figure out the right path.
Serving Fort Worth, Kennedale, and surrounding areas.
