TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Christopher Coomer

He originated Tybalt. He danced Balanchine's Jewels. And now he's handing every ounce of that stage magic straight to the next generation.

Christopher's journey started in Birkenhead, England, and led him to Houston Ballet in 2004, where he spent 18 seasons climbing the ranks: Corps de Ballet, Soloist, First Soloist. Along the way, he tackled Giselle, Kylián's Petite Mort, and had Stanton Welch's Romeo and Juliet's Tybalt role built on him.

After retiring from the stage as Ballet Master, Christopher now serves as Principal Instructor at Houston Ballet Academy, shaping the dancers who'll carry the art forward.

Our Parent & Me class for 2-year-olds is a chance to slow down, connect, and explore the joy of movement together. Through music, creativity, and dance, your child will build confidence, coordination, and independence while getting their very first glimpse into the world of dance.

Join us this fall for My First Ballet, where children ages 2-8 can journey through Greek mythology, American cultural traditions, and beloved European fairy tales and folklore. Enjoy captivating dances from around the world in a fun, engaging introduction to ballet.
