The springs aren’t random — they’re your resistance and your assistance. 🙌🏻

Spring guide:
🤍1 white = 4 lbs
🩶1 grey = 8 lbs
🖤1 black = 22 lbs
💙1 blue = 88 lbs

Ordered light → heavy.
But lighter doesn’t always mean easier.

On the reformer, you’re either:
• working against the springs (resistance)
• or working with the springs (assistance)

Example: Front Platform Lunge
More springs = more help pulling the carriage in
• 2 grey → modified (more support, less load on working leg)
• 1 grey → standard
• 1 white → harder (less help = more work)
Example: Back Platform Lunge
More springs = more resistance pulling you back
• 2 grey → harder (more load)
• 1 grey → standard
• 1 white → modified (less resistance)

Same machine. Same movement.
Completely different challenge depending on the springs.

Moving your body and exercising can help boost your mood, reduce anxiety, lower stress, increase energy, and support your mental health in ways that go far beyond the workout itself.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’ll be hosting a few special classes on Saturday, May 16th & May 23rd at both of our locations with proceeds helping provide mental health support for those in need in our community.

On May 16th, we’ll also be hosting a wellness pop-up where you can sample products from , , & . ✨

Look for “TOTAL BODY - MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS” on the schedule to book your classes. We’ll also have a QR code available in the studio for anyone wanting to donate extra and help spread the love. 🤍

Instructor Spotlight ✨ MORGAN ✨

“Hi! I’m Morgan! I was born and raised in Newport Beach. I grew up dancing for over 10 years so I’ve always been passionate about exercise. I also went to the University of Oregon for my under grad (Sco Ducks 🦆) and got my masters of accounting at the University of Hawaii (go rainbows 🌈). I am also a licensed CPA but no I cannot do your taxes!

I first got into Pilates when I was looking for a form of group fitness that was low impact but still made me feel strong and accomplished. I am super prone to injury - but Pilates was the first form of group fitness I did consistently that made me feel strong without compromising my body. I’ve tried every form of group fitness under the sun but nothing makes me feel as good as Pilates does.

I love spending time w friends, my husband, and my miniature cream dachshund, RVCA. I’m also an online shopaholic and can send you recs for the best spots!“

You can catch Morgan every Friday at our HB location and a few weekends at both studios! 🫶🏻
