❄️ From Arendelle to Huntley—What a Show! ✨

A huge round of applause to our incredible Huntley Park District Youth Theatre cast, directors, production team, and everyone who helped bring Disney's Frozen KIDS to life at the Cosman Theater!

Through three performances in two days, we welcomed 650+ audience members who joined us for an unforgettable journey to Arendelle. From the first note to the final bow, our talented young performers wowed audiences with their hard work, confidence, and passion for the stage.

Productions like this are only possible because of the dedication of so many people. Thank you to our directors, choreographers, music staff, backstage crew, technical team, costume and set volunteers, families, and every volunteer who invested their time and talents into making this show such a success. Your support creates an incredible experience for our young performers and our community.

Most importantly, we're so proud of every member of our cast. Watching these young actors grow in confidence, develop new skills, build friendships, and shine on stage is what Youth Theatre is all about. You should all be incredibly proud of what you accomplished!

The power is currently out at Stingray Bay due to a nearby powerline that was hit. The pool will be closed the rest of the day, including evening swim lessons. Crews are onsite now and we expect to reopen on Thursday, July 30.

🏆 What happens when preparation, teamwork, and character come together? Incredible things.

This weekend, the Huntley Park District’s Stingray Bay Family Aquatic Center proudly sent two lifeguard teams to compete against 41 teams from across Illinois at the 2026 Illinois Parks & Recreation Association Guard Games.

The results speak for themselves:
🥇 1st Place
🥉 3rd Place

While we’re incredibly proud of these outstanding finishes, the story goes far beyond the awards.

Throughout the competition, our lifeguards demonstrated the skills they train for every day—teamwork, communication, quick decision-making, and professionalism. But what stood out even more was what happened after the competition ended.

Without being asked, every member of the Stingray Bay team stayed behind to help the host facility tear down and clean up the event.

As Aquatic Manager Josh Norek shared:

“I couldn’t be prouder of my team. I have watched each year Stingray Bay’s guards take their craft to the next level. More importantly than their final scores, I’m proud of the people they are. Not only did they compete, but they all helped set up the entire event and clean up at a pool that wasn’t ours. When I told them good job, they said, ‘Of course we would help—we know how much work this would be on the staff here.’ Stingray Bay is truly home of the elite lifeguards.”

Congratulations to every member of both Stingray Bay Teams! Thank you for representing the Huntley Park District with excellence, integrity, and heart. Your community is incredibly proud of you! 💙
