Information for the upcoming tournament:

When: September 26th, doors open to everyone at 8:45am

Where: New life baptist Church, 7640 Wall Triana Hwy, Harvest, AL 35749

Categories of competition: Kata, synchronized kata, sparring and board breaking

Cost: $25 to compete in Kata, synchronized kata, and/or sparring. If a competitor wants to participate in board breaking that is an extra $8. Payment should be in cash or check please I don't have venmo or paypal.

Sometimes I get to take part in really cool and crazy things.

This weekend I was inducted into the American Martial Arts Alliance Hall of Honors in Las Vegas.

I want to thank all of my students, past and present, because all of you are a big part of my journey.

Some instructors don't see katas as a necessity for training and skill development. I totally disagree. Katas teach you so much, if you see their intent and purpose. They are a simulated fight. To truly be able to fight and win, you must have control over your mind, body, and spirit.

It is with great sorrow that I share the passing of the great Carlos "Chuck" Norris.

He and Grandmaster Burleson were best friends for around 50 years and share many memories and times of training together.

Please pray for his family and for Grandmaster Jamie Cashion as he was also a close friend of the Norris family.

Out of an abundance of caution, I am canceling class for tonight. While most of the roads are getting better, once the sun goes down and when we would normally be leaving class, I am concerned that the roads will once again become an issue.

Thursday, December 18th is our last class for 2025 until 5 January 2026.
