IUP Men's Rugby — back-to-back NCR Division II national champions in both 15s (2023 & 2024) and 7s (2022 & 2023), and student-run since 1974 — is outfitting the squad with new ZIP training gear this season, and we're inviting alumni, families, and local businesses to sponsor it.

Every dollar goes straight to equipment — no overhead. Your brand gets seen by 3,100+ engaged followers and everyone at the pitch.

🏉 Please join us in welcoming Sebastian “Seabass” Murati as the new Head Coach of IUP Rugby Football Club!

Coach Seabass brings an exceptional blend of rugby experience, player development expertise, and sports science knowledge to the program. A Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced degrees in Bioengineering and Biomechanics, Sebastian has coached across youth, high school, and collegiate rugby throughout Western Pennsylvania — including with Aviator Rugby Academy, Slippery Rock University RFC, and the Pittsburgh Harlequins.

More importantly, he already knows the culture, the community, and many of the players who make IUP Rugby special.

Sebastian’s coaching philosophy focuses on building complete athletes through skill development, conditioning, technical precision, and injury prevention. From scrum mechanics and tackle technique to leadership and long-term player growth, he is committed to building a competitive and sustainable program both on and off the field.

We’re excited for this new chapter of IUP Rugby and can’t wait to see what Coach Seabass and our players accomplish together.
