🏉 Please join us in welcoming Sebastian “Seabass” Murati as the new Head Coach of IUP Rugby Football Club!

Coach Seabass brings an exceptional blend of rugby experience, player development expertise, and sports science knowledge to the program. A Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced degrees in Bioengineering and Biomechanics, Sebastian has coached across youth, high school, and collegiate rugby throughout Western Pennsylvania — including with Aviator Rugby Academy, Slippery Rock University RFC, and the Pittsburgh Harlequins.

More importantly, he already knows the culture, the community, and many of the players who make IUP Rugby special.

Sebastian’s coaching philosophy focuses on building complete athletes through skill development, conditioning, technical precision, and injury prevention. From scrum mechanics and tackle technique to leadership and long-term player growth, he is committed to building a competitive and sustainable program both on and off the field.

We’re excited for this new chapter of IUP Rugby and can’t wait to see what Coach Seabass and our players accomplish together.

This spring has been a total grind from January till now. We lost 5/7 projected starter, reinvented ourselves, and are owning our identity!!! Coming in as a #6 seed this year, looking to make a run and upset teams along the way!!!

Surpassing 100 career points had a dominant 2nd half to the day yesterday. Scoring try’s, defending edges, and taking on kicking duties.

JP is starting to build confidence and work his way into meaningful minutes with n big match’s!!

We know we know!!

Told you last post, blink n he’ll be at 500+ and here we are!! MJ has taken on a huge responsibility with our 7s side, giving our young side valuable leadership and insanely dominant performances.. with teams keying on him defensively, he’s still racked up 42 try’s this semester.

MJ balled out yesterday in Maryland, knowing it could have been his farewell tournament!! Let’s hope there’s one more go at a National Championship!!

Lots of growth today, learning being careless can lead to large score swings, to owning our identity and battling our asses off..

No surprise, another huge day from leading the scoring. was a menace on defense as usual. .63 had a highlight track down, absolutely impressive for a dude of his size
