Our office had some very special visitors on Friday! The team from K9s For Warriors and their amazing service dogs stopped by to share how they rescue and train dogs to support Veterans living with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and military trauma, pairing them at no cost to the Veteran. Hearing the impact of these partnerships on mental health and quality of life was a powerful reminder of what true support looks like. A huge thank you to 𝗞𝟵𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 for all you do for our Veterans and for spending the day with our team.

We have had a busy internship season this year! As our spring interns, 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 and 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹, have completed their time with us, we are excited to welcome three new interns for the summer:

𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗮 is a civil engineering student at University of North Florida (UNF) with a minor in construction management. She is looking forward to learning about what structural industry entails (rules, codes, etc.) and tackling new challenges. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing the saxophone, and building things.

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻 studies civil and structural engineering at UNF and is looking forward to the practical application of what he’s learned so far in school in real life projects. He enjoys spending time with family and learning about new engineering topics in his spare time.

𝗞𝗮𝘁 majors in civil engineering at Florida State University, where she also pursues interests in structural and construction materials engineering. She is looking forward to working with new structures and materials in CAD, as well as making new connections and working with a team. In her free time she loves doing arts and crafts, working out, and trying new food.

We are also happy to announce that, following his graduation from UNF this month, 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 will be joining the Apex team as a full-time staff engineer in July!

Apex/TDS has a strong history of collaborating with university students through internships to help them prepare for the realities of the workforce and expose them to engineering at the residential level. Third time's a charm! After a heatwave in '24 and a downpour in '25, last Thursday delivered a beautiful evening for Central Florida's largest workplace wellness event - the 𝟯𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝟱𝗞.

We are proud to report that our team doubled in size again this year! Ten of us from the BeLit family of companies - along with over 13,000 people from 400+ teams - ran and walked through Downtown Orlando to raise support for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Many thanks to our returning Team Captain Cody Arkadie, new Co-Captain Tiana Larkins, and everyone who supported this important community event!

The Events Committee served up another entertaining Easter Egg Hunt at our Jacksonville headquarters yesterday. Team members searched for eggs hidden around the property during this much beloved annual event. Jacob found this year’s Golden Egg grand prize and went home with a $100 Visa gift card. Allan and Katherine were also big gift card winners. Most importantly, a good time was had by all as we enjoyed some laughs and a little pre-Easter sugar high!

We are pleased to announce the promotion of 𝗝𝗼𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻 to 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 at True House, effective January 2026. Having previously served as BeLit’s Director of Manufacturing Technology, Joey brings nearly two decades of deep technical, operational, and process driven experience to his new role overseeing operations at True House’s three manufacturing facilities.

The company outing to Friday night’s Jacksonville Icemen hockey game was a great success! It was an exciting game as the Icemen pulled out a 2-1 overtime victory over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. This annual event has become a staff favorite as we enjoyed time outside the office with our colleagues and family members.

In addition to it being Teacher Appreciation Night, it was a Military Appreciation Weekend and our family of companies once again sponsored tickets for veterans and active service members. Go Icemen!
