Nessa Morris and I fished North of Jax at Connect Church on the incoming tide from Sunup. Managed one fuzzy dolphin and 1 rare rainbow fish that put up quite the battle on my Walmart 7’ white surf rod using cut orange sugar candy slices for bait. Feeling blessed.

I took my boy on a last minute camping and fishing trip on Amelia Island over the last couple of days. He had a great time and has decided that Blaze Orange FishGum is his favorite color. Water was horrible. Chocolate milk flavored water all over, but we still managed to catch fish with good bait and good gear. Like Surf Fishing Solutions tournament spikes and cart mods, The Sinker Guy 5&6 oz Sputniks on his Bruno, & Bambi rigs. Also used some hand tied single drop long cast rigs that JJ Jurich showed me when I was in the panhandle. Over The Bar Rods & my one GREEN GETM RIGS Rod got the job done. Dirty water out there but the fish we caught made a little boy’s day, & that makes his Poppa happy too! Thanks guys. I have very talented friends that make great gear. I had the privilege of taking my friend Wendell Nolan to the beach today to try and maybe get his grandson Aiden on a fish or two while he was visiting. We decided to try over here in North Jax this morning on the incoming tide. Aiden came on a great day. We ended up with 2 quality keepers out of 9 pompano along with a mess of whiting. Aiden drug in several species to include shark, drum, ladyfish, whiting, and pompano. FishGum was key to the bite again today as was my Over The Bar Rods OTB 13s, Way Over The Bar 15, and my lone GREEN GETM RIGS 14’8”. They were WAY OUT THERE. Full send every cast. The Sinker Guy 5oz Sputniks held it all down, while Surf Fishing Solutions tournament spikes held it all up. Had a great time on the beach. It was great to help another young man learn about our sport and to see his grandpa on the beach where he belongs. 4 days, 3 trips, 3 quality coolers of fish. I’m beyond blessed….

I took Thomas Morris out yesterday evening Saturday 8/1 for a quick fishing excursion South of Jax on the incoming tide. He caught his first ever keeper pompano! 5 pompano, 2 palometa, a lady fish, and the assorted catfish that showed up early in the trip. FishGum was at it again! I made a FG believer out of Thomas. Lots of fish pics for a great young man! I’m proud of you Thomas. You did a great job and I think you learned a lot yesterday. As always The Sinker Guy Sputniks, Over The Bar Rods, Surf Fishing Solutions made the trip possible! Let’s congratulate Thomas on that first keeper pomp! He’s one of us now.

Fished the incoming tide with Bruno Brundowski from before sunrise this morning in St Augustine. I had a 7/31 pompano limit by 8:15. FishGum party pack was absolutely on 🔥FIRE🔥! I also used some shrimp & blanched fleas. Well worth the drive. As always, I used The Sinker Guy 5oz Sputniks, Bruno and Mortician rigs, Over The Bar Rods OTB13s, Surf Fishing Solutions Tournament Spikes and cart mods. I guess they are still around. I know, I know “local fish” 😂 But, We Got Em!
