Over the last week i have had several parents from different gyms asking me about cheerleading rules and how scoring works, and it drives me insane knowing that out of all the parents I’ve spoken to only one of them actually have an understanding of how it all works. Coaches and Gym Owners, please please please, research the rules, know how it works, educate your parents as to how it works, and be transparent about how your teams score. It will not only hold you accountable as a coach it will help your parents and athletes fix what the need to fix in order to be a level appropriate athlete, verses thinking they are more or less that what they really are.
