We are so, so excited to officially welcome Gabby to the Glacier Swim family 🤍🐠
Because of the incredible support from our families (seriously… thank you 🥹) and the growing demand for lessons, it was finally time to expand our team — and Gabby feels like the absolute perfect addition.
Gabby brings such a warm, approachable presence and a really special way of making kids feel safe, seen, and comfortable. Her big heart for kids and genuine passion for water safety align so beautifully with everything Glacier Swim stands for.
Over the next several weeks, Gabby will complete an extensive hands-on training process, including a full week of on-deck observation and 30+ hours of in-water instruction before beginning to teach lessons of her own during our July 6–August 14 session. We’re incredibly intentional about our training process, and we couldn’t feel more confident in the care and instruction she’ll provide to families.
Registration opens in just a couple of weeks, and we’re feeling extra excited about this next chapter 🐠

Spring break and summer fun is RIGHT around the corner! Have you heard about our stroke and dive program? 👀🏊♂️
Glacier NEXT is taught by Jill Stonehouse at Flathead Scuba. Jill grew up swimming competitively and brings years of traditional swim instruction experience. She’s CPR & First Aid certified and a certified SwimAmerica instructor (although this is NOT a SA program). Get to know Jill In the graphic below!
Who’s it for?
👉 Kids 6 and up (no max age!)
What we’ll cover: Glacier NEXT is unique to other programs in the Valley in that it meets kids where they are — every lesson is customized to your child’s individual age, needs, and goals.
✔️ Kids who can already put their face in the water and self-rescue (float on their back or independently get to safety after entering deep water) will work on:
• Streamline & kicking mechanics
• Treading water, dives & intro to side breathing
• Strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke & butterfly
• Endurance, confidence & FUN
✔️ Kids who aren’t self-rescuing yet will focus on:
• Floating and maneuvering on their back (safety first!)
• Kicking mechanics & breath control
• Face-in-water comfort through bobs, “superman” launches & diving for toys
• Building a foundation that progresses into strokes & dives
Lesson Structure:
• Private (1:1) lessons — 15 or 30 minutes
• Semi-private (2:1) lessons for siblings or buddies close in age/ability
If you’d like more details, please reach out! We offer a COMPLIMENTARY 15-minute assessment lesson so you can meet Jill and see if Glacier NEXT feels like a good fit before committing long-term😊

Words! Mean! Things!
What we say and how we say it has meaning and significance to our little people. It holds the power to shape their experiences and instill confidence into their minds and bodies. Just like for anyone, it’s intimidating trying something new! It can be scary to be stretched and challenged to dance outside of our comfort zones. But it’s HERE where we see growth happen most.
Never apologize to your child after lessons. You’re teaching them an important life skill— there is nothing to be sorry about :) instead, tell them things you noticed that they did well that day; how brave and tough they are 💪🏼Be specific in your encouragement— “I saw you grab the monkey bar! You are SO strong” or “your floating today was so brave! I’m really proud of you.”
The beauty of this program is that we have time to get familiar with one another and become more comfortable together everyday. The tears will slow and the nerves will shake. And, even if they don’t, remember that you are giving them a precious gift of being water safe that will last a lifetime. The fun will come with time and growth!! Be patient and trust the process.
I promise it will be worth it ❤️
