Eli Deville put together a statement on offense this week, but this at bat stood out the most—facing Brayden Nims, the #6 player in the country.
Everyone knows Eli has power and can hit it out the park, but this at bat was more about his mental approach. Going down early in the count against a high-level arm sitting 82–85 and touching 90, he stayed composed, battled through tough pitches, and worked it back before getting a pitch he could drive.
That right there shows maturity beyond his years. The ability to compete, adjust, and stay locked in against elite talent is what separates players. Best 13 year old arm I’ve seen. Great character as well super impressive match up to watch!

Watching the World Baseball Classic got me thinking back to my 2018 high school season. Being named a 2018 ABCA High School All-American alongside guys like Bobby Witt Jr. and Brice Turang was truly special. Crazy to see them now starting for Team USA—nothing but respect for that group of ballplayers. ⚾🇺🇸
